Quoting: Mr. NorM We go outside around 10 every night for a cig and we both keep seeing this weird light thru the trees. Thought it was a plane or something, but it never gets any closer. I have to move around to keep it in my vision. I know the tree wasn't moving. In the western sky, low on the horizon.. Same place op? east and south east is the area i see this the most in the summer you might have convinced me it was atmosphere causing it, but after seeing this in the cold dry winter sky that ain't gonna fly Not trying to convince anyone. Just letting ppl know what I've been seeing. Married to a ginger |

Quoting: Mr. NorM This "thing" is low on the western horizon.. Idk, it may be nothing, but it's baffled me for a while now. It's not like a live in a well lit area either. Sky is always dark and nothing but woods for miles behind house (west) Venus and Mars are visible in the western sky shortly after sun set. . :ase26122019: Annular Solar Eclipse - December 26, 2019 - Kannur, Kerala, India |

That would be the first thing I would get. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 11912752 why bother? the shills will just say it's fake or make up some parallax drivel the people paying attention should just show other people, not try to convince the internet I was right about the parallax. It was not drivel. I paid attention to Jupiter last night by naked eye while standing next to my scope. Looked fine to me. But hey, if it's wobbling all around the sky then let's see some astrometry showing it... Looked pretty normal from Hawaii last night too: [link to www.cfht.hawaii.edu] i showed these moving objects to a friend, then asked if made that claim without him seeing it would you think i was nuts too many people are seeing shit moving up there this is an easy shill for you three experts, it sounds flat out crazy [link to en.wikipedia.org] I'm not a shill, just an experienced astronomical observer who knows how to measure the position of the planets. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 2306474 United States 01/29/2015 02:57 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Jupiter wasn't moving and there's no space war going on. What you're seeing is what's known as "Earth Wobble". Quoting: Anonymous Coward 2306474 Why do you think this past blizzard forecast was a good 50 miles off? It was the earth wobble again.... WRONG! The so-called "experts" admitted they used the wrong computer model/program. They used the European model which threw off the estimated path by 100 miles. "Earth wobble"... what a maroon! Bwaaahaha! Doesn't make sense - why would someone use the European Model when they live in America? |
