I agree Merkel is 100% unprincipled opportunity. Her gifting nuclear-capable stealth diesel-electric submarines to that Apartheid supremacist state in the ME was my last straw with her.

What is interesting here is that neither See Eye Aye head John Brennan nor Homeland Security Chief Jeh Johnson were there representing the "intelligence community".

In all fairness the Polish-Lithuanian Empire did enslave the Ukies for several centuries, and the Ukies wanted all their "oppressors" out (not to justify their cruelty but it was grounded in historical injustices). Interestingly, while the Poles were enslaving Ukies, the Tsar granted the serfs their freedom in Svoboda Ukraine. Chauvinistic Ukies don't mentions this much as it goes against their Russophobic narrative.

This is hardly in the spirit of peace and stability.

A lot of coal mines have shut down in light of Ukraine's war of terror. Some still operate and I think Donbass sells some coal to Russia (for a while Russia was selling it to Ukraine - Ukraine refuses to negotiate with Donbass because it's butt-hurt about the secession).

Incidentally Donbass was part of Russia for centuries and has been trading with Russia even longer. I don't think any change in their political status will change their economic relations - indeed preserving them was one of the reasons for seceding.

Bush jr took the authority over NG away from the states, which is traditionally help and defense for each state.
Bush gave what he took to the FEDS beginning with the state of florida after hurricane Katrina.

States are slowly being stripped of sovereign powers at a number of levels.

NG has never before been used outside the u.s. until Georgia.

DHS is not there to protect civilians..not at all.

DHS makes me think....if it fails and closes shop. Would Obama miraculously come up with a new department already staffed and controlled by the admin?

Why National Guard? If anything wouldn't you send more specialized advisors?

Homeland Security is already within the executive. This is just about funding. Plus, Obama would need congressional approval to create a cabinet level department.

There never was a need for the heavily staffed DHS anyway.
Remember state national guard and military would pitch in for natural disasters in the past.

Now it's every man for himself pretty much ever since Katrina ESPECIALLY Gulf of Mexico BP carnage and Haiti.
Disaster capitalism is all that is alive and well.

Not my point by "Admin" my point being replacing the personnel of DHS or making a whole new division that is particularly sympathetic to Obama's agenda if you know what I mean. You know the billion plus rounds that's been bought up by the .gov.

In history...it's usually Seals or Berret's not NG. Dunno, I find it odd however it may just be new policy/norm.

NG helps bypass official use of harder military perhaps.
Stateside NG is mostly used for building and setups establishing bases. I can see that here.
