I am a DJ and I use my name and my DJ name at the end as my f/b name....I know many others have been using their DJ and MC names only (without their real name)
over the last week I have seen at least 3 of these guys having to open new accounts using their name not their musical moniker all citing that FB has disallowed their accounts due to this.

At this point, I don't think the US government is above enacting ex post facto laws. I truly believe that what you say today could make you a suspect in the future once the paradigm shifts yet again.

If there was internet back in the 60's, I bet a lot of people would be considered pariahs today for remarks made in the climate that existed 50 years ago.

These days no one judges history in context. Previous generations are constantly condemned based upon current standards, which lately have been shifting so quickly that it's gotten hard for some of us older folks to keep up. Is it now a hate crime to condemn someone for fisting their dog? I don't think that was a hate crime 3 months ago, but for all I know maybe that's changed and now dog fisters are a protected and exalted group, and I would be called intolerant for condemning the practice.

Ideologically, the USA has changed more in the last 10 years than it has in the last 100 years, and the changes keep coming faster and faster. The concept of "thought crime" used to be a notion of science fiction; now it's a very real thing and called a "hate crime". Today's jokes and idle comments could be tomorrow's "thought/hate crimes", and I'm pretty sure the new standards will be applied retroactively.
