The question is how many more temples will there be?

According to this author 2:

Small excerpt from bibletrack.org

Ezekiel's Millennial Temple will not be built on the existing Temple Mount in Jerusalem. Instead, according to Ezekiel 40:2, it will be built on "a very high mountain."....

I should point out, however, that this temple will be built for the millennium; it will not be the temple that is defiled by the Beast (aka Antichrist) of Revelation 13:1-10 (see notes) during the tribulation. Therefore, at least two temples are in Israel's future - one for the Beast to defile and another for the millennium, built to Ezekiel's specifications.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 42696102

From this verse in Rev 21 - we see that the tabernacle does not mean temple in the new heaven:

22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.

----

Therefore, I will agree with the author stating - there could be 2 temples; but would add - at most 2 temples.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75022214

These verses in Daniel 8 cast some doubt on whether there will be a second end-times temple:

13 Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?

14 And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75034716

So far we've learned that Ezekiel's temple is enormous and possibly impractical to build.

Thus, we have an argument that it is not a literal temple.

However, there is also the other side of the coin;

It will be a literal temple - from gotquestions:

short excerpt:

Arguing for a literal fulfillment of the prophecy of Ezekielís temple are the numerous details of Ezekielís vision and the specific dimensions of the temple. If the vision is to be literally fulfilled, then the fulfillment must be future, for nothing like what is described in Ezekiel 40Ė48 has taken place up to this point. The dimensions of Ezekielís temple are far larger than the temple in Jesusí day, and that temple was a grand structure.

Most who expect a literal fulfillment of Ezekielís temple expect it to be erected in the millennial kingdom, a 1000-year reign of Christ upon the earth. During the millennium, glorified saints from the present age will live in contact with natural human beings who will still need to make a decision for Christ in order to be savedóand many will choose not to trust Him. The sacrificial system described in Ezekiel cannot be for the forgiveness of sins, for Christ has accomplished that once and for all (Hebrews 10:1Ė4, 11Ė14). In this interpretive approach, the sacrifices are seen as memorials of Christís death or as rites for the ceremonial cleansing of the temple, but not as a means to forgive sins....
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75034716

Maybe it has to be huge to accommodate all the people of nations who come to Jerusalem year after year to celebrate and worship Jesus:

Zechariah 14:16 And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles....

Problem is - before Rev 13 - we have all the seal judgements and next trumpet judgements.

I don't recall any of trumpet judgements where: 1/3 of trees, grass earth burn up or 1/3 of all sea life is destroyed. Or men being tortured for having mark of beast, or 1/3 men killed on earth.

Here's a partial outline of book of Revelation:

Revelation timeline and supporting verses from Matthew 24:

7 seal judgements (Rev 6): - Matthew 24, what Jesus calls time of sorrows:

First four seal judgements: 4 horses of apocalypse start journey -

1) NWO-globalization - by deception; Math 24, see that no man deceives you.

2) war(terrorism?) - Math 24, nation will rise against nation.

3) price of food soars, - Math 24, there will be famine in diverse places.

4) 1/4 part men dies (hunger, pestilence, catastrophes, etc) - Math 24, disease; earthquakes.

5) Christians are killed for believing in Jesus - Math 24, many will be killed for my namesake

6) Great earthquake, sun blackens, moon red, many signs in sky takes place; men hide, for the great day of his wrath is come - Matthew 24, what Jesus calls the Great Tribulation starts with this seal.

7) Opens up the seven trumpet judgements.

The 144,000 witnesses are sealed (protected) - and all hell is literally unleashed on earth.

7 Trumpet judgements:

1) 1/3 of all trees destroyed, all grass burned up.

2) Sun, moon stars all effect what is going to happen on earth(differently).

3) 1/3 of sea life, and ships - die and destroyed.

4) The fresh water supply becomes poisonous.

5) Men that received mark are tortured 5 months

6) Another 1/3 part men dies (war? ELE????) in a little over a year.

Regardless of how most interpret Ezekiel's chapters on the construction of the temple - we can be certain there will be an end times one.

The reason we can be so sure there will be at least 1 temple is 2 Thes 2 - this has never happened in the history of mankind.

Here's how Matthew Poole biblehub interprets Rev 15:5:

Matthew Poole's Commentary

And the seven angels; the seven ministers of Godís vengeance on antichrist, to whom the vials were given.

Came out of the temple; that is, out of the tabernacle of the testimony; for in Mosesís tabernacle there was only this inward court for the priests, the people worshipped without. They came (as the high priest was wont) out of the oracle to bring Godís answer to all his saintsí prayers.

2) war(terrorism?) - Math 24, nation will rise against nation.

We have clearer examples of Mathew 24, Than we do the seal Judgements of Revelation.

For example - many will be offended i.e. political correctness if off the charts.

Nation against nation - evil abounding.

In Revelation we have examples of christians being persecuted per Seal 5 and Seal 2 - peace being taken from the earth (terrorism).

But it's hard to tell exactly where we are at this point.

We will definitely know once Seal 6 takes place, with the entire earth shaking and SEEing him(AC) stand in the temple.

In Mathew 24 Jesus' disciples ask when will the world end?

Jesus answered and said - When you SEE ALL these things - this is the generation that will see all prophecy fulfilled (Math 24:33).

He literally means seeing, i.e. through webcams, videos, computers etc.

Yep...

People for 2000 years have been incorrectly saying Jesus would return.

Up til now - it couldn't have happened because the technology didn't exist.

You couldn't see something happening on the other side of the world - this passage below makes no sense to anyone living in Jesus time.

Only we today can understand the technology it takes for this to happen:

Rev 13:9 And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall SEE their dead bodies three and an half days lie in the street. (KJV)

This says other people from other nations will SEE their dead bodies in the street.

The tech didn't exist for people to be in a FIELD or someone on a ROOF and both 'simultaneously' seeing something they should act on i.e. the antichrist STANDING in the temple.

Math 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:

18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.

Well, the technology now exists for the rest of prophecies to come true

Summary temple/tabernacle:

A brief definition, description and purpose of the tabernacle and how it fits into end times.

Also, there will be at least 1 more, i.e. the third temple.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 54694632

Going back to the original verse in Rev 15:

5 And after that I looked, and, behold, the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened...

There is a temple in heaven....

Of course it doesn't serve the same purpose as the one here on earth would.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75067456

Here's how Matthew Poole biblehub interprets Rev 15:5:

Matthew Poole's Commentary

And the seven angels; the seven ministers of Godís vengeance on antichrist, to whom the vials were given.

Came out of the temple; that is, out of the tabernacle of the testimony; for in Mosesís tabernacle there was only this inward court for the priests, the people worshipped without. They came (as the high priest was wont) out of the oracle to bring Godís answer to all his saintsí prayers.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75072847

------

Who else might we see in this tabernacle:

Rev 6:9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 60352722

Rev 15:6 And the seven angels came out of the temple, having the seven plagues

As Matthew Poole mentioned in his Commentary - this is the revenge that God promised the saints under the alter:

Rev 6:10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?

Nation shall rise against nation is coming soon. Then Babylon the Harlot will take over the world, then the earth will be split into 4 economic unions. The leopard, the bear, the lion and the ten horned beast.

At what point would you say nation is rising against nation?

My idea of it, is what's happening today.

It's not world war 3, but today most nations in the world are involved in a conflict whether it's political, terrorism or outright war.

Out of 162 countries, Only 11 actually free of conflict:

Precisely!!

Jesus said in Matthew 24 when you HEAR of wars and rumours of war - the end is not yet.

But when you SEE nation rise against nation.

I think the word 'rise against' includes conflicts. It's strange the word 'war' is not used again.

Notice Rev 6 - seal 2:

He's given power to 'to take peace from the earth'; and they should kill one another.

This is exactly what terrorism/conflicts/wars are doing today.

There is not a nation today not touched by all that's going on in our world today.

I wanted to add

There is no doubt the world is heading for WW3 and a nuclear confrontation; but many verses in the bible suggest it's during the great tribulation.

Small excerpt:

Matthew Henry's Commentary

15:5-8 In the judgments God executes upon antichrist and his followers, he fulfils the prophecies and promises of his word. These angels are prepared for their work, clothed with pure and white linen, their breasts girded with golden girdles, representing the holiness, and righteousness, and excellence of these dealings with men. They are ministers of Divine justice, and do every thing in a pure and holy manner...

The general drift of the present vision is similar; the days of warning are over: the plagues which now fall will fall on those who have trifled with convictions: the sanctuary which was opened as a refuge is now closed: none can enter till the plagues have descended....
