Rev 13:18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding
We're told he won't be revealed unto he stands in the temple declaring he is god.
Is it possible to figure out who it is before that time?
Verse 18 seems to imply - it is.

But it didn't. It was in existence for 624 years. From wikipedia - the ethopian empire was 666 years. I really don't think the ethopian empire qualifies as the beast. If we look at the 'age' of the EU From the inception of it's history - it is almost 66 years old. It wouldn't qualify as the beast, but one of it's heads(out of 7). According to wikipedia it's history starts in 1951 when the Treaty of Paris was signed, creating the European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC).... From there it expanded to other treaties until it renamed itself the EU. Rev 13:18 starts with 'here is wisdom'. Presumably one gains wisdom with age. Perhaps the 666 can be broken up with a decimal point where we say 66.6 is the age of the 7th head that receives the mortal wound i.e. in about a year or so the EU will collapse. Rev 13:1 [I saw] a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads.... 3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast......and they worshipped the beast. It's the 7th head that is wounded aka the EU....
