SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) -- Residents of Eastern Washington are reporting rainfall that contained milky-colored or light gray dirt.

Maybe it's Manbearpig.

Pumice from the slopes during high winds.

A great bar trick is to take a pumice rock and bet a beer that rocks float.

Could be that particulate pollution from China was picked up over the Pacific Ocean.

We'd see it here in Western WA if that were the case. It's not happening here.

"We have heard a few theories thus far including; volcanic ash from Mexico or Russia, dust picked up from last night's strong winds, or perhaps ash from last year's wildfires over SE Oregon/SW Idaho. I'm in Central Oregon about 250 miles south of Spoken, WA, we are getting the same storm front. My rain looks normal.

My bets is on volcanic ash. Some volcano or other is always burping up some stuff these days.
