How do adults not know how to cook?

I cook but lots of people are raised eating out or cooking meals in a box. Fresh is best and food prepared at home is always better.

Agreed. Not cooking leads to eating poorly, then poor health, and a light wallet as eating out is expensive.

Is because they are lazy and they would rather open a bag of chips and eat that then actually make anything and have to clean dishes.

I made aole spaghetti sauce today, prepared a few lasagnas and made some muffins!!

they dumped Home Economics cooking classes in high school years ago, way too dowdy . . .

now it's in to have a "Culinary Arts" track with a focus on the restaurant trade.


I prefer the other way, since we will all be living at home, but only some will go on to be restauranteurs -

but boy they ARE learning to cook! Really well, I'd say.

Well i'm an adult and I know how to cook a couple things now but when I moved out on my own I had no clue. My mother never taught me...and the couple times I asked her to show me she was mean and wanted to fight. Thankfully my husband loves to cook and showed me how.

Cooking is fun

Working mom households.

Microwave food.

Illiteracy with cookbooks.

Shame about the kitchen work.

Laziness about the details.

Penny pinching the electrical fees and food fees.

Food grows on trees you know, no cooking required.

Some guys are just stupid with where to buy the ingredients at the grocery store. They go in for a grocery list and come out with 100 kelbasas and 20 pounds of sauerkraut and call it food to cook with.

Cooking is a learned skill you know. I was phobic to learn how to fry an egg for over a quarter of a century. Grease safety fears, fear it would catch on fire and burn me. Cooking involves heat and heat can bring pain without the right skills.

Cook food to eat or cook wanky meals that make others jealous?

I know a medical doctor who refuses to cook because she is afraid she will burn down her house. She's an odd one.

I know several like that, and what bothers me the most is that they all have top of the line kitchens with the elite level appliances, gadgets, etc..... and yet they never use them.

She's also afraid to go out in public because she thinks people might attack her from behind. And I'm thinking "What have you done to people to make you so afraid?"... lol
