Honorable to rescue and help all the sea lions, seals, etc. and help them get healthier. But, what after? Are they then going to put them back into the Pacific? Zoos? Sounds like there's no food source left for them there. What a heartbreaking disaster! |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 43682507 what are really 'safe' levels of radiation in food? i'd be curious on what levels sushi/tuna etc... are at. a.) When you build it by your own you build a Alpha-, Beta- and Gamma Sensitive Geiger Counter for ca. 200-250$ b.) This is depending on the Food. c.) Not detecable, in Theory Sushi is even much better than a big Chunck of Fish because for Sushi you use ca. 20-25g of one Type of Fish and the next one from another Fish, etc.. We use a Food Sampler by our self and we do not see any Contamination with Caesium, our big Food Lab do not see anything either in 99,5% of all tested Fish. |

I've been a commercial fisherman in Alaska for over 25 years. Within weeks of the Fukashima disaster I bought a cheap radiation detector. Since that time I have bought 2 more of them with the most expensive one being the one I bought from John B Wells, Caravan to Midnight, for $800. In all that time I have never detected an above normal level of radiation. Of course I don't check everyday, so I may have missed some spikes in radiation levels. |

Unless the earth mother naturally reacts to this surge of material and in effect causes hurricanes and various changes to dismantle this decaying substance. just a thought but could someone tell me what would happen if a fissure opened in the ground and nucleur waste came in contact with magma? Suppressed technology is only one example. Even with 27 billion people on earth we can find balance if they just let us. Perhaps this technology is being supressed for reasons of greed and profiteering. Similar to the scenario of the cure cancer with one pill over chemotherapy and all the medications and medical treatments necessary for the lifetime of the patient and the "MONEY" this will all cost just to continue on living. Think if there was an automobile that could run off steam, water, electrolysis? As far as we have come technologically speaking and still we must rely on energy sources that continue to cost everyone so much money. In the end it is always about the profit. You need money to survive and business's need money to continue doing what they do. Why does so many types of soda pop contain "high fructose corn syrup" because it is "CHEAPER" to manufacture than sugar thereby increasing profits ten fold regardless of the health implications it continues and will continue to cause anyone who consumes it. Why is so much food and beverages loaded with all these chemicals and crap? Does this keep doctors in business because so many people are obese and have health problems because they cannot afford the very expensive organic/natural food? Companies are not held responsible for the ingredients they put into their products and too often to these CEO's care not for peoples health but the bottom line which is always dollar signs. |

Radiation sickness presents like the flu. Believe what you want but I think there's a connection Yeah...just ignore all the animals with lesions / open sores on them in the Pacific Northwest/Alaska. Seals, polar bears, owls.....nah....it's the flu shot. OK, at this point I need to ask... Where are you getting all this? Don't tell me "enenews.com". I've live on the Oregon coast for 20 years, and walked the beaches (often daily) since then, and I still haven't been able to find anything unusual over the last few years. No sick seals or pups, animals with open sores, "melting starfish", etc... A lot of my friends are fisherman, and according to them, literally nothing has changed since Fukushima. And yeah, I understand if you want to call me a "shill", because there are plenty of them on this forum. But seriously, all I want to know, is when do I start seeing even a hint of all these conditions of which you speak? |

Ca. 80% of the Contamination was released in to the Water, now you need to research Samples of this Water to get a better understanding (what type of Nuclides was released and in what Percentage) Finally you need to research the Half Life of this specific Material. The two Mayor Player are Caesium-134 with a Half Life of ca. 2 Years and Caesium-137 with a Half Life of 30 Years. It is already complicated to identify Caesium-134 because only ca. 25% of the Initial Release are still in this Form, look for the Decay Chain. b.) Magma: difficult Question because we have no empiric Data about it, imho nothing would happen but the Magma get Contaminated too because the Temp. of the surface Magma is to low! |
