Let's see...seven billion people on earth. 100 million copies of the book and approximately two and a half million tickets for the movie sold worldwide during it's best (i.e., opening) weekend.

The book has been bought by about 7% of the world's population. And a teeny-tiny fraction of one percent has seen the movie.

By contrast, over 100 million Bibles are sold EVERY YEAR.

So as you can see, my statement (that you replied to) is supported by fact.

So the hundreds of millions of WOMEN who bought the book of their own free will BECAUSE THEIR FRIENDS TOLD THEM IT WAS GREAT then became disgusted by page three and then told their friends not to buy it......oh, wait

The fact that the movie is "fictional" is totally irrelevant.

I (and most people) know what SM/BD is and how sick it is. One doesn't need to pay to see a movie about it to be able to judge the storyline -- MANY details of which have been shared throughout the pop culture media for months.

For God's sake, stop trying to justify your thinking this piece of crap is "brilliant." You have absolutely no idea how foolish you sound.

I'm surprised (well, maybe not) that you didn't see my point. When I stated that the vast majority of people were staying away from FSOG, "Malooka" tried to disprove that by replying sales numbers for the book and movie tickets. I pointed out that only VERY tiny percentages of the world had either read the book or seen/will see the movie. So despite the endless hype the media has engaged in for FSOG, it's only that very tiny percentage of people who are apparently interested in perversion.

It's being absolutely trashed on IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes so far. 3.9 / 10 (IMDB) and 26% on RT.

I don't really understand the interest or all of the talk about it in the first place. I only know of one person who tried to read the book...my sister. She thought it was garbage and poorly written; she didn't even finish reading it. We have enough trash becoming 'mainstream,' throwing bondage and whatever else into the mix...doesn't sound like a great idea to me.

Yeah, cause i spend my whole life, judging people, and reviewing people on Rotten Tomatoes and IMDB.....to make my life feel....well......worth living....

I knew what utter garbage FSOG is and wanted to share the psychiatrist's warning. Simple as that. I knew most would probably agree, just because most people aren't turned on by SM/BD. But I also knew some people would disagree, and that's okay.

As has already been said, FSOG has no shades of grey. It's sick stuff, and that's the truth. You can choose to not believe that truth, but that doesn't negate the truth.
