Tropical Cyclone Marcia to Annihilate Sydney, Australia

Tropical Cyclone Marcia has intensified during the last 16 hours, reducing to a lateral speed of 7km/h while windspeed at the core has increased 200%, from 90 km/h to in excess of 275km/h.
Stormtrack data has evolved significantly during this same period. TC Marcia is expected to travel briefly SW before changing direction SSE after making landfall. Whilst over land it is expected to gradually weaken to a tropical low bringing 600mm of rain and riverine flooding Brisbane by Saturday.
Travelling on the current track, Bureau predications indicate it will re-intensify up on reaching the ocean, east of Ballina, New South Wales.
Here, it will head SW and gradually re-intensify in the abnormally large mass of warm water that has accrued along the NSW coastline this season.
Widespread flooding, rail and electrical outages are expected to affect Sydney by Tuesday 24 February.
