These boards are all part of a COMSEC system. They where produced at Teledyne Electronics in Lewisburg Tennessee. Going on the fact that they have been bonded and sealed, I would say they are for marine application.

Just so you know. It is illegal for you to possess them.

To me they look like custom ASICs( these are typically 10 times faster than current GPUS and 100X faster than a CPU at a specific task)

The guy in the vid shows how nearly every single chip is unrecognizable.

They are military spec and coated, and from the year 1989.

The general public computers of the day were 386's as shown in this 1989 PC magazine [link to books.google.co.uk (secure)]

some pc's were expandable to 16mb using $1,300 2mb daughter cards. This would cost a total of $10,392 in 1989 or $19,840.00 in todays money. Also check out page 44 of that magazine for an 8mb huge card, which costed $2,845 in todays money for a 2mb version.

Conformal coating of boards is common, not just marine or .mil.

Looks like older stuff, although smt wasn't in everything consumers have like now.

Chips can be unknown because they are proprietary. I have seen some ICs with part #s sanded off.

We will likely never know exactly what those boards were for.

True... But im thinking F16s or another fighter aircraft. They definitely had ASICS that were much faster than public computers for the time.

the rule of thumb with technology gap I have heard over and over is

Whatever the public knows about, the private/black ops sector it at least 100 years in advance.

These are most likely avionic boards.

This type of construction and secrecy is paramount for reliability and stopping reverse engineering.

This was the good stuff (that didn't exist) in 1989.

Smoke and mirrors.

I would know because I actually know. Unless it's lightyears ahead of what they give to other parts of the infrastructure which I doubt.

If it wasn't exotic it isn't that much more advanced if at all. If it was exotic then it's probably marginally more advanced. Defense contractors aren't looking for state of the art (or of the future) they're looking for "make the most possible from this contract" which means whatever goes into a line manufactured item is going to be more than likely off the shelf depends on the sub though.

at 1:27 there is an LSI controller chip (the big one)

LSI are RAID controllers.

There is usually a crystal to clock the boards, especially if they are accurate and very fast. Chips can be used to clock, but are not as perfect, as a crystal.

look for a metal can with two wires, and a frequency written on the side, hard to erase, and never seen a blank one. Seen plenty of conformal coated and sanded boards though.

That will be the Mega hertz. Im thinking 20mHz... Very slow.
