Are we the terrorists?

I have an Argentinean lady friend who I asked a lot of questions to about this.

We have a target painted on us we proudly painted on ourselves is the general opinion .

We are prideful and arrogant that we are American. But nice ppl and a wonderful country and pound for pound the best country non the less. Freedom, opportunity, infrastructure, human rights, quality of living.....we got it all.

The general grumbling is that we live in a bubble. Safe and sound from the rest of the world's problem. America is like a giant island. There is a sort of childish wish to see that bubble popped. Our national pride is annoying to most other countries. They don't do that. Or can't.

That and no other country on the planet is a any kind of big deal unless they can somehow mess with America's plans or get in our way. Which means most countries are no big deal including the one they are from.

We are rich kids with all the luck and the best fighters.

So yeah....hate may be too strong a word for most because we are actually good ppl and most know that. They like to see us a getting a dose of our own tough guy medicine though. They can't help themselves.

I'm American but lived in central europe for a couple years in Slovakia, Czech Republic and Poland. I can tell you they hate us there. Not as much as the Russians, but they hate us nonetheless.

Not the uk but I think in Italy maybe disliked by 50%. We were bombed in Italy by the cia, we have a history of problems with the usa. The political consensus is that usa foreign policy is not in our interest.

I've always thought of Poland, Ireland, Northern Ireland, and Scotland as the most welcoming to Americans.

It's surprising to me to see Poland listed on this thread a couple of times as being one of the countries to hate America. You having lived there obviously have a better perspective than myself though.

Not to be rude I understand the programming you receive in America how its the greatest etc so it's not your fault to believe you are the best.

Most people in Australia don't like "yanks" and I've heard the term "America's fucked" for the 25 years of my life.

My mother who is polish says the saying "dirty America" has been around in Poland forever.
