Letter to my love about vulnerability

So I wrote this to a dear friend of mine who I wanted to thank for being so supportive. I respect your opinion and wanted to get your thoughts before I sent it. I feel that sometimes I come across a bit too intensely.

I asked myself today what is vulnerability? I concluded that it is the ability to let yourself be seen deeply. It is to love wholeheartedly even though there is no guarantee. I have found that vulnerability is at the core of shame, fear and my struggle for worthiness but, I have also found that it is the birthplace for joy, creativity, love and belonging. It is how authentic connections are made.
I allowed myself to be completely vulnerable with you. It was terrifying at times, rewarding and worth it. I am so grateful to have felt this intensely for you and with such vulnerability because it reminded me that I was still alive. I showed you my struggles, my truths, my joys, sorrows and dreams without any disguises. Somewhere during this awesome experience I discovered that I am enough...I was finally able to stop screaming and just start listening. It's a powerful place to be and in all honesty I had to have a complete breakdown in order to arrive at this awakening. Thank you so much for going through that with me and letting me cry, break, fail, and be weak in front of you without casting judgement or ill words. The most unlikely of all characters making one of the largest impacts in my life. I knew you would end up being my favorite song! What a beautiful encounter.
