I always release it when it's a big fish that's lived for many years...I don't feel I have the right to take its life.

A pound or 2 is great eating! 20 pounds or more?..I better be in the ocean or I'm letting it go.

Small ones are good for eating ... this big guy is probably laden with toxins

Not sure if it is the same breed or not. In this area, catfish are predominately Blue cats or Channel cat.

Don't know, but seen them laying in the back of a fullsize pickup truck and still hung off the back.

Looks like BS to me. That fish would drag the little boat up river and snap his pole in half.
