Final Thoughts on Mr. Nimoy
Mr. Nimoy is gone, but the character he created will live forever. Life is short, art is long. The men and women who create characters like Mr. Nimoy did with Spock, hold a special place in our hearts . Spock is beloved for many reasons, the chief of which is that he represents the best ideals of what we all hope the human race can evolve into. Spock is an absence of the sins and base instincts and worst fears and hatreds that continue to plague the human race. Surely Mr. Nimoy had a bit of that beloved Mr. Spock in his own soul.

Re: Final Thoughts on Mr. Nimoy
And, yet we HUMAN BEINGS are necessarily emotional, chaotic creatures.

But, yes, we could stand to be more rational.

I think his character was the perfect foil to Kirk's personality, and -- therefore -- it was the chemistry between the two that really made the show.

It was a very unique character.

And Nimoy really made it his own.

Too bad, he kind of got type-cast as a result.

Re: Final Thoughts on Mr. Nimoy
We watched Star Trek VI last night as a homage to Leonard Nimoy. It was about "the undiscovered country." peace between historical enemies. Still a good message for today. Forgiveness is like an escape key that enables us to move on. Without it we are stuck with situations like we have between Israel and the Islamists - perpetual hostility. I will miss Leonard Nimoy and the character of Mr. Spock greatly.
