Only the times something went wrong with the plan. Other than that the plan never called for being 'caught' which is equal in my world. You can actually feel your stomach drop when you finally clue in.

Re: Have you really ever messed up?
Perhaps. Let me give my example which I am struggling with understanding.

If I reveal certain things anywhere on the internet my threads mysteriously get deleted. I'm not speaking about here, although that also happens rather often. It happened today on a law forum.

I mostly indeed take those events me needing to change myself. On the other hand, I could be wrong. Perhaps those topics are what I need to reveal more often? I don't know. Am I "messing up" when my threads get deleted or not?

Re: Have you really ever messed up?
I spent four years seven months messing up big time. I thought, because of love of country, family, our way of life and God, it was ok to play God. Pick who lived, who died. I relive each and every one of my actions everyday of my life. I'm 65 and my life is better than most but I still regret my decisions in my youth.

Was there a time in your life you screwed up so badly that the consequence made you realize you need to change yourself?
 Quoting: Function F7

Yep, but I always knew who could help and that is something I think about. No one is prefect, some are more love by God than they know, cause, well I know cause he said so, I am here. You are loved, more than you know. The Lord sent me. To tell you.

Yes. Of course I've messed up. I'm far from perfect, but I do try to make good decisions that will reap positive results and to be a good person every day.

I do understand fully it's a hard leap to make, my life was messed up for 10 yrs solid.

BUT .... ANYONE can do it! You dont need the support of family and friends (in most cases we have alienated them through our actions) You just need to be brave and be honest with yourself is all and with that transformation can happen.

I didnt go out to change my life as such but by removing myself from the negative influences in my life (not people as such) i gave myself a chance to reflect on whats important...more accidental on the surface but i do now believe my sub-concious was pushing me towards change.

I found change in helping others less fortunate - maybe this is what others could try as focusing on others instead of yourself actually is good therapy for yourself if you know what i mean hf

If I was looking to chat I don't thing a forum full of Lawyers would be my best choice, . . although in the end I would probably be the one having the most fun before I got deleted.

That actually is the key to the whole process, dwelling on the past and placing blame on others etc is what holds us back.
When i look back at all the times ive blamed this or that for my situation...... It's a release to admit your faults and blame for your own situation etc cos then you can move on.

Every. single. day, but I've come to learn that I can't change myself. I need God, in His mercy, to change me. I find that even when I start out with the best of intentions, my selfishness always finds a way to work itself into whatever it is I am doing. Oh wretched man that I am.

Everyone is their own worst critic.

But looked at from a higher perspective, removed from the urge of instant self judgement, I'd have to say that making mistakes and learning from them is part of being human. We all muddle through the best we know how at the moment. Perfection is only a concept and is not real. Everything and everyone is flawed, and that, in itself, is perfect.

Re: Have you really ever messed up?
Some day your parents will die

There will be no end to your suffering day or night

You will cry out out for comfort but none will arive

You will will weep and mourn for forgiveness but there will be none

Your own judgment will fall on your own head

You will beg for grace but there is none to be found

Hypocrites will find no home anywhere, not even under an abandoned house
