When will America have a Native Indian President?

When Obama was elected, the newspapers were saying "look how far America has come by voting a black man into office" and "America is coming to terms with the mistakes of its past" and so on..

As much as African American history is prominent, what about Native American History? You know, the guys that were on the continent before the Pilgrims?

If America is truly representative of those who are entwined with its core history, why isn't there a major Native American political force in Congress?

It seems very strange for there not to be.

Australia is no different. The Indigenous people were here way before the settlers and they are still struggling to have their voices heard politically - compared to the major political parties.

We said "Sorry" in 2007, but how long will it be before we have an Indigenous PM?

Anyway, back to the thread's topic. I'm interested to hear from you all what you think about the prospects of a future Native American President, or if you think there will never be one, why not.
