i don't think the dollar disappears. if they want a revolution, just try to push everyone to a regional currency. people aren't conditioned enough for that yet. still busy brainwashing the younger generation for it. next step is probably the globalized gold backing of currencies with the dollar going back to treasury control. after that's been reasonably sustained for some years, then regional currencies introduced. after that, global digital currency. the "dollar", in it's currently known form, isn't going anywhere for years. it's being slowly digitized, cash usage removed. it's a step by step. they won't risk complete upheaval by making such a huge step of removing the "dollar" outright. remember, there's a difference between a fed res note and a united states note, both look similar but aren't same.

You do what you want with your money. I feel safe with precious metals. I'm not telling you where to buy them, what incentive do I have to give this advice?

IF a new currency gets introduced and you can purchase significantly less of it with the US dollar you currently hold, it's quite possible at this point precious metals will be much more valuable than the paper.

Do what you like. As the price of metals come down, I'm gonna keep on buying. I can't afford gold so I buy silver.

The awesome thing about America is that we still have our guns, so there can be q quick stabilization in case things go south. Also, even though we have allowed our manufacturing base to be totally exported, there is plenty of people, space and ingenuity to begin quickly doing it here again. Within a year, we could be back to manufacturing 75% of what is currently imported.

Honestly, we are in uncharted territory here, so it is hard to say.

If there is a new currency introduced, and the value of new currency is whatever fraction of the US dollar's previous "value," perhaps whatever debt that is "owed" by the US population will be divided by that same ratio as well.

Or forgiveness. I doubt that though, the way that control is maintained over the population right now is via monetary debt. It may be the only way to appease the people though.

The problem with forgiving all of our debt is that countries who trade with us are going to be upset with our games, and they may refuse to trade with us, or straight up go to war with us.
