Senators Offer Plan to Close IRS Forever | |

I am all for the destruction of the IRS, Treasury, etc. but why would we trust any of these politicians to replace it with a rate that's fair. Everything you buy already has tax built into it. Tax revenues are $40 million a day. Why is that not enough? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 53847088 Buy or barter used goods between friends and neighbors, or strangers on boards like craigslist. I'd add flea markets and such, but I'm sure the government would try to close all such loopholes, forcing people to pay tax on all purchases. They'd like to disallow private party sales and barter, but it's impossible to ban that. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 68559967 "Has the late, great JimTraficant’s flat sales-tax proposal outlived the former Ohio Democratic congressman and entered the legislative pipeline? This could be the case, as Senators Gerald W. “Jerry” Moran (R-Kan.) and David Alfred Perdue, Jr. (R-Ga.) have introduced a bill designed “to overhaul and simplify the American tax system.” The bill, S. 155, was read twice and referred to the Committee on Finance. The other cosponsors at this writing are Senators Pat Roberts (R-Kan.) and Johnny Isakson (R-Ga.). Its House companion bill is H.R. 25. There would be no need to impose a flat sales tax, or any other tax, to replace the funds that were only paying interest through the Fed to the international bankers. "The Creature from Jeckyll Island" explains how we got stuck with the Feral Reserve. "The Law that Never Was" explains how the 16th Amendment was never properly ratified and therefore is null and void. Also, there isn't a judge in this country with the balls to state the truth even though they know the truth. |

The last election here almost had him booted out but the opponent was revealed to be a closet leftist and...that sunk him. Definitely makes me weary of anything he stamps onto. Moran...he's better but very forgetful. Only reason I remember him as my senator is thanks to the meme here.... Problem with any bill they pass is it'll get punted by the exec and unlikely to get an over ride veto on. My guess is the Repukes are going to start sliding a lot of things through to get Obama to use his veto pen a lot just so they can set up the 2016 issues. I mean if you know the guy is going to blindly veto everything you send...why not use it to your advantage yes? |
Necromancer User ID: 17824549 United States 03/13/2015 12:29 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Bill should be contingent upon the the repeal the 16th Amendment. Otherwise it only opens the door to a federal sales tax on top of the existing income tax. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 68399693 This is a real concern. You can imagine them starting up a federal sales tax, then promising to sloooowly kill off the IRS... and ten years later, both systems are still sucking your wallet dry! The Federal Reserve corporation and IRS were born together, one hand loans money to FedGov and the other insures these private bankers get paid on time. Through income taxes, of course. To kill off the IRS would also mean the end of the Federal Reserve system as we know it. Ain't gonna happen any time soon, very sad to say. I have to agree with this 100% Taxation in the United Kingdom may involve payments to a minimum of two different levels of government: the central government (Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs) and local government. Central government revenues come primarily from income tax, National Insurance contributions, value added tax, corporation tax and fuel duty. Local government revenues come primarily from grants from central government funds, business rates in England and Wales, Council Tax and increasingly from fees and charges such as those from on-street parking. In the fiscal year 2007-08, total government revenue was 39.2 per cent of GDP, with net taxes and National Insurance contributions standing at 36.9 per cent of GDP[1]—approximately £600 billion (using 2008 nominal GDP measured in dollars, and converting using 2009 conversion rate). |

Otherwise it only opens the door to a federal sales tax on top of the existing income tax. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 68399693 How can an Amendment, the 16th, that was never passed be repealed? When Gingrinch brought up the flat tax, I believe that corporations like H&R Block reminded congress of how many jobs would be lost if they simplified the income tax. Nothing has changed, and the tax corporations will keep their jobs. But then that was before congress would force us to buy things whether we wanted it or not. Maybe they'll form a tax brokerage thing like the insurance scam, and we'll all be forced to have our taxes done by a professional tax business. I don't have the time or the crayons to explain this to you. Slake Blake |
