Pacific NW USA radioactive rain right now!
I admit, I've grown complacent and haven't been taking readings with my rad meter lately. Had some free time so I took 2 today. I have an analogue survey meter that measures intensity and frequency, but it's not digital so I can't report actual CPM (counts per minute)
There hasn't been much rain here this winter due to El Nino, so the steady rain for the last couple days has been a welcome relief.
First I wiped the hood of a car that has sat outside for about a year and there is plenty of slime on the paper towel- most likely algae that's been softened by the recent rain. Took a reading of the paper towel and the meter started crackling like it was making popcorn- not good. Since this car hasn't been washed for awhile it has probably accumulated more radioactive particles from just sitting., so I wook my second paper towel wipe from a car I just washed a couple days ago. The meter was crackling a little less frequently than the first one but it was still very elevated.

There be radioactive particles in the rain folks, stay out of it!

I commented over on your orca thread, completely agree about the severity of Fukushima.

3 orca calves have been born in the last couple months, let's hope they survive!

All I can do is report the trends I observe. A video of a survey meter dial bouncing wouldn't lend any more 'creedence'.

After Fukushima I bought this meter and have used it to measure trends. I don't have the money for a $600 digital detector, though I see some now selling for a lot less.

The current trend is elevated radioactive particles in the rain here in the Pacific NW. I don't care if you choose to not believe me.
