Putin says Russia was willing to increase nuclear readiness over Crimea

Russia was ready to bring its nuclear weapons into a state of alert during last year's tensions over the Crimean Peninsula and the overthrow of Ukraine's president, President Vladimir Putin said in remarks aired on Sunday.

Putin also expanded on a previous admission that the well-armed forces in unmarked uniforms who took control of Ukrainian military facilities in Crimea were Russian soldiers.

And the Kremlin has committed a third of its rapidly-increasing military budget to modernizing that arsenal.

More disturbingly, Putin and others in and near the Kremlin, regularly brandish the nuclear threat.

The most recent example involved Putin himself in a Russian documentary broadcast on state television on Sunday about the annexation of Crimea. He said Russia was ready to put its nuclear forces on alert last year to ensure the Crimea takeover.

"We were ready to do this ... [Crimea] is our historical territory. Russian people live there. They were in danger. We cannot abandon them."

Hey...Ebola's just part of the American/European landscape these days.

It didn't take long for that to happen. Now most people don't even care that it's here. Just sheer sheeple acceptance.

I think you're right, and when people get used to something they treat it with less respect. Then mistakes are made. Happens all the time. The Doctor's and nurses may stay vigilant, but what about orderlies? Janitors? Trash collectors? etc...

When citizens start dying of it, or spread it around to other citizens, then the drama will begin.

Especially if they are rich.

I have no doubt that we have some good treatments, especially if you are young and basically healthy. But when some 70 year old in for a pacemaker comes up with the Ebola, that person is probably going to die. Or a baby.

Yet we just keep bringing it to our country. Amazing to me.
