Have any of you ever had a dream, and then experienced a very similar situation in real life?
This has probably been talked about many times on here before but I want to ask this question myself to make it personal and relevant to me in this particular instance. This has happened to me several times in the past but I have always eventually forgotten about it or thought nothing of it. This time however The similarity and weirdness of this makes me want to talk about it.

Several weeks ago, I had a dream, and this was just a normal dream, but for some reason I remember this particular scene quite vividly. I was going to a chain of grocery store that I like, a branch that I'd never been to before, and I had to take an esculator down into the store, and I was there to browse at their beer section.

Today, in "real life", I randomly went to a branch of this chain of grocery store, in a new area I'd never been to, with the prime objective to browse at their beer section. I had to drive into a multi-storey parking lot to get to this grocery store, and the actual store was downstairs. After parking, I went through these automatic doors, and had to take an escalator down into the shopping area, which I thought was something new and unusual. As soon as I stepped onto the escalator, I suddenly remembered this dream I has several weeks ago and was overwhelmed at the similarity of this situation, it was just the same. I thought it was so weird. Situations like that convince me that there is a higher power we don't yet fully understand, and this experience has refreshed my quest to learn more about the theories as to why this sometimes happens.

I guess this is similar to a deja vu, although this was an actual vivid dream I had and then experienced an almost exact representation of part this dream in real life.

Has this ever happened to you and what are your theories on this phenomenon, or do you think it is pure coincidence?

I've written an entire paper on it.

It is more common that you think. It actually saved my life one time by helping me avoid a car accident with some pre-knowledge of the event.

Mysterious but oh so worth exploring and learning about.

I talk about it here.

I was with one of my girlfriends for about 10 years. She cheated on me and while it was happening I dreamt it.

I also dreamt that plane crash that happened in San Francisco in 2013. I'm not sure why. As soon as I woke up, I knew I should go to Drudge. It was the top story.

It's happened a few other times too.

I would like to add to this...

Perhaps, and this is just a theory, and not what I believe, only a theory... but perhaps every night when you sleep, the blueprint is downloaded every so-often, which is like a map that outlines your courses of action for the near future. These dreams are a ton of information contained within, and are not fully remembered the next morning.

Now, when you get these deja-vu moments, you are actually remembering a forgotten memory from that dream which was designed to download your blueprint or map for the near future.

As you are already seeing by the replies, it's not as uncommon as you think OP.

A friend of mine, Dr. Art Funkhouser who actually researches this phenomena and publishes academic papers on the topic has a frequency study which you can read here:

I also recommend checking out his website and you can contribute to his research with personal experiences.

Re: Have any of you ever had a dream, and then experienced a very similar situation in real life?
I've felt the same thing many times...

It is worth discerning between two distinct types of this experience that i've had...

1. The times where I've dreamed a day and then experienced it, selfsame, in this life....

and

2. The times where a certain Place, Object, or Entity I've experienced in a dream are experienced in this life...

The second, to me, seems much more overwhelming and important.

A lot of those experiences were usually of buildings... Where I remember that particular building being from a dream I'd had and then encountering it in this life but in a different place.

It makes me wonder about Crossover...

I had a dream of someone breaking into my house through my window. 3 or 4 days later my crazy ex girlfriend broke in through that same window while I was on my pc... While it was happening all I could think about was that dream instead of grabbing a weapon haha

Re: Have any of you ever had a dream, and then experienced a very similar situation in real life?
I have weird stuff happen, but when I am awake - very often, I will visualize or have foreknowledge of speaking to someone by phone, and within a minute or so, they call me. Sometimes, like today, I have the receiver in hand about to debate as to whether to call them or wait for their call - then... Rrrrinnngg

Happened too many times to be coincidence. And often, I will have the conversation on a topic or hear them in my precognition telling me or asking me something, as if the conversation is played in my mind right before it happens. You get used to it, but it's still too weird.

I've just watched your video and I am truly fascinated with what you said. I find it amazing that I only posted this question to get this off my chest as I wanted to share my thoughts with people rather than ponder over this alone, and within minutes I have had such an in depth response from someone who seems to have experienced exactly what I'm talking about.

Judging by the responses, there seems to be many others who also have experienced this. I am skeptical this this is just a coincidence, there has to be some explanation behind this, but what we are taking about is either the ability to see the future as if it's already set in stone, or the ability to control the future with our minds!

One thing that struck me in your video is when you mentioned that dreams are often produced in the frontal lobe and are therefore part of our short term memory, yet this precognitive 'scene' I experienced was part of a dream I remembered, even several weeks later, or several months later as per your example. Maybe there is some quantum based explanation that parts of our dreams that somehow occur in other parts of our brains, maybe due to blood flow fluctuations or subconscious anxieties, have the ability to present themselves in scenarios we feel we have already experienced or dreamed about, via some sort of new dimension!

It is something that has affected my life spanning 27 years as I started having precognition in my teens.

There is a lot that we just don't know clearly by the lack of support, lack of science and the body of skeptisism that denies such a possibility yet from my own point-of-view seeing the future in dreams is not only possible but vastly important in terms of understanding our relationship with reality. It becomes a fundamental science if we can move forward into understanding this process.

For me, it wasn't just the ambient non-lucid precognitive dreams that occurred, as I was also learning to lucid dream some of my lucid dreams merged naturally into the precognitive dream content that obviously is the source for deja vu and why dreams come true in the first place.

It was in these very acute and specific dreams that I was even able to change the dream content and observe those changes affect physical reality when the dream came true. A type of new causality that Einstein, Newton, Feynman and many more have failed to uncover.

Yet... not once, but several times I was able to maneuver into this focus state and cause a measurable effect that changed the future by changing the precognitive dream. And that is just the beginning in my opinion as to where those interested in exploring this potential must go.

There is a relationship between the dreamworld and our physical reality. Precognition is the exploratory candidate for seeing this relationship in one's own first-person point of view.

I'm glad that you have had a taste... so what are you going to do know with it? What's the next step?

Re: Have any of you ever had a dream, and then experienced a very similar situation in real life?
ive had this happen several times

one time, i had this weird random dream that i was living in a new town and it was nice, pretty, and as i was driving through the streets there were these red brick buildings about 4 or 5 stories high with glass enclosed staircases on the one end of each building to the left. thought nothing of it in the dream or after waking other than it was slightly odd.

about a year later i moved to a college town and rented a small house for which right across the street were several dorms, red brick blgs, glass enclosed staircases on the side of each one.

as soon as i saw the buildings i recalled the dream and was stunned.

Yes, I dreamt of walking along a street in England months before I went there to live. I'd more or less forgotten about the dream until one day about 5 months after i arrived in England it was coming into summer and I was walking in an area not far from where I lived that I hadn't been to before. I realised the street I was on was exactly like in the dream, the buildings, the gradiant of the road, a petrol station to my left, a street leading uphill to my right.
