So you lot wonder why people who were offered peace countless times keep throwing it at your face? How many cease fire and peace agreements were broken by palestinian radicals? Most of them, fair enough. How many of those broken treaties were preceded by israeli colonate expansion? Most of them, fair enough. There won't be lasting peace in that region as long as either side sees itself in a zero sum game with each other.

Religious fundamentalists or radicals know and encourage behaviours that feed off these situations and people give in to their provocations causing everlasting suffering that could and can be avoided. The three abrahamic faiths all share a common root but as long as any of them (a.k.a. their followers) sees itself as special, conflict will ensue.

All the scripture of these religions has been edited several times to suit historical circumstances. Their chronological order doesn't reflect the order in which they are currently presented, they were compiled into what they are now. Everyone of them commands beligerance or tolerance according to the needs their followers had at any given time. Thus you have a chapter in Deutoronomy that sanctions the murdering of men, women, children and cattle in foreign cities. There is a calling for tolerance after the Babylon exile at a time in which Israel was part of Cirus' multiethnical empire.

In the OT you have a passage by Marcus in which Jesus calls a bitch to a woman because she's a gentile, this is conveniently excused in other NT books. In Paul who is the latest writer of Jesus' life and work we see the first mentions to Jesus' message of universal love, but then again, Paul lived in the multiethnical roman empire which was still suspicious of christianity and his message was directed to pagans.

In the Koran there are versicules that call for the inclusion of the 3 abrahamic faiths and even zoroastrians as god's people and many famous ones calling for fight against the infidels.
