bridea Luk 21:36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

Basically I think that there is only one correct answer to as to when it will happen and that is... today. Please Note that there are two classes of the blessed. Class I Those who are dead in Christ. Class II Those who are alive in Christ.

Now someone who is in Class I was obviously at some time in the past a member of Class II. Non of us can guarantee that we will still be drawing breath at this time tomorrow. So this is not a matter that you can comfortably "put off". As is the common human tendency when faced with a decision. In fact putting it off is a decision in and of it's self. You might be blessed with a little more time, but don't count on it. The risks and consequences of dying in your sins are just to great. All of us are skating on thin ice.

.

1Th 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

1Th 4:15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive [and] remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

1Th 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

1Th 4:17 Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Re: Why would you want the rapture?
God did not spare His Son from the cross because Jesus Christ came to do the Father's will, which was for Him to go to the cross.

There is nothing selfish about wanting to go and meet the Lord in the RAPTURE, because this is ALSO HIS WILL for the Church, that He would spare His bride from the judgment and wrath that is going to be unleashed into this world on all that still have sin in them, because they did not repent.

There will be workers still in the TRIBULATION but these are the 144,000 JEWS who will evangelize the world, and carry out the fulfillment of the FIRST COVENANT God made with the Israelites. The purpose for Israel was for the purpose of evangelizing the world through the nation of Israel.

The more rewarding covenant that is in Jesus Christ is for the Church only (ALL believers who have confessed their sins and have been forgiven in the name of Jesus Christ and have been given New Life).

I hope that believers come to realize the true purpose of what Jesus Christ did on that cross instead of seeking delusions of self glory which will most likely and ultimately end a bad way for them.

In Jesus Christ.

Re: Why would you want the rapture?
The whole point of Jesus Christ's sacrifice was to spare us when the time came.

Never forget that Revelation 3:10 states

Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

You can argue that means true believers will merely be moved out of the way (which is really just quibbling since any salvation would be a SORT of rapture) but based on what Christ described in Matthew 24:30....

“Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.

It sort of sounds like there is a gathering up and extraction, but again, interpretation is ultimately up to the reader.

There are various accounts of these "harvests" all throughout the bible. Some argue they are metaphorical, some suggest they are straight up fortuitous abductions. In any case, promises have been made that the faithful will not be harmed. Moreover that they will not be tempted or travailed upon as the unbelievers. Some people call this a Rapture.

More to the point and to answer your question: Even Christ didn't want to be crucified. He knew it was destiny but he still prayed for the burden to be lifted off him. Dying is a hard thing to do. Most of us aren't even prepared for it when we are old and long to return home.

You'd have to be some sort of masochist to WANT to die when God has seen fit to spare you that terrifying process. I, for one, would gladly take him up on that offer if it were proposed.

Re: Why would you want the rapture?
If you look at the Illuminati cards the demon possessed Illuminati WANT the rapture.

Why, because the holy spirit resides in Christians and has acted as a restrainer to their plans.

Once Christians are raptured from the earth the spirit is gone and the illuminati (who are demon possessed ) can go bananas on all of humanity.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 65534404

Exactly. The presence of Spirit-filled believers is what holds back TPTB. They cannot proceed with the tribulation while we're still here. They keep trying to guess when it's going to happen, but Jesus said he'd come when least expected. I wouldn't be surprised if TPTB are behind a lot of the date-setting, gematria, and other attempts to pinpoint the day and hour.

People say that the Spirit is not removed from the earth, but they don't understand that the Spirit indwells Christians in a way never done before or after.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 20545539

He said this.

Rev 11:3 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.
Rev 11:4 These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.
Rev 11:5 And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.
Rev 11:6 These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.
Rev 11:7 And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.
Rev 11:8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.
Rev 11:9 And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves.
Rev 11:10 And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.
Rev 11:11 And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them.
Rev 11:12 And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.

Re: Why would you want the rapture?
LMAO. So they agree with my claim on that site. So I guess then that you follow all the doctrines of Darby. The teaching has its root from Darby. If this interpretation was correct there would be remnants of it to the time of Chris. As there is not it is only private interpretation as nowhere in the bible does it teach of this Rapture as taught by Darby. Also, there would be no contradiction in scripture with this theory. The Lord taught no such thing. Keep believing in the theories of man. More power to you.
 Quoting: Johnny 46696508

No, you need to read it again, and take some time because I seriously doubt you could read all that material very carefully in such a short time. You believe the slander that the link refutes. And again, if you want to learn what the Rapture really is and why we believe it, there's already a bazillion threads about it.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 20545539

I said it was invented by John Darby. The site does not refute that. I only read the excerpt that discussed my claim. Also, I never said John Darby was a heretic. He was a man. Not a prophet of the Lord. He was the first to come up with the idea of pre-tribulation rapture. That is a fact. So if you accept this as reveled doctrine from God then you should also accept all of John Darby's teaching and the church he founded as the true church of Christ, right? Either God reveled this to him or Satan. Amos 3:7 Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 46696508

The article refutes the claim that it was invented by Darby or anyone else. And what I believe about the Rapture COMES STRAIGHT FROM SCRIPTURE. I NEVER appeal to Darby, and never even heard of Darby until many years after I saw the Rapture teaching in scripture. And I'm not the only one; you'd have known that, had you understood the article.

You, too, are only human, and can be in error. I happen to think you're completely wrong about the Rapture. Your opinions on this topic carry no more authority than mine or Darby's or anyone else's.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 20545539

Claim: The PTR was a heresy started by Darby and made popular by Scofield.

Rebuttal: Darby stated that he saw the PTR in scripture, three years before MacDonald’s (non-rapture) vision. Scofield was noted for his teaching of Dispensationalism, as well as his Reference Bible. The PTR is a logical conclusion to draw from a dispensational approach to scripture, but this approach is hardly heresy. The allegorical approach is at least as open to the same charge, as is so-called Covenant Theology wherein no distinction is made between the church and Israel.

Indeed Darby states he saw the PTR in scripture. Who saw this before. Surely Darby wasn't the only enlightened man on earth since Christ. Not even the Lords apostles saw this or even wrote about it. I know Darby didn't invent this. Satan invented it and put it into Darby's mind to deceive. Either God was speaking to Darby or Satan. You can't serve 2 masters. By their fruits shall you know them. Please show me where in earlier writings early Christians taught this idea of rapture. I don't think you can. The fact is it wasn't a mainstream idea until very recent.

All I'm reading from you is your own ideas about it

No disrespect intended but Honestly I don't care what you , anybody else or even what I think about it

I'll just go with what the Bible says and the bible says that there will be a group that doesn't die but that they will be caught away (rapture)

Infact you can find it in typology in the Old Testament

The world is close to being destroyed and God raptures Enoch but Noah and his family goes through it

It will be the same at the end time .....a very small amount of Gods people will take a rapture...the "elect" .....the "predestinated" ....the "Bride of Christ" ....the "many all called but FEW are chosen" .....the " Wise virgins " .....

And the "foolish virgins will be left behind to go through the tribulation ....they are still virgins( Gods people) .....but they weren't completely sold out to God ...99.99999% of christians arent

That's why the group that takes a rapture will be so small that people won't even realize that there was a rapture.....one in a million

^^^I agree ^^^

OP, you and others that want to stay here - your heart is here on earth to do His work can stay. Maybe the Lord will see that you would be perfect for staying. Me, I want to be with my Lord and Savior asap!

I've warned others. I will follow what the word of God says and I want to willing go when He comes for me.

I think there will be plenty of backsliders here left to carry on the word of God because they truly knew what the word says yet were not serving Him.

There's a discussion of who saw it before Darby in the article. And yes, the Lord's apostles saw it and wrote about it; that's where the teaching comes from. Paul was very clear about the sequence, as stated in the article.

You say, and seem quite adamant, that Satan invented it. But you will have to stand before God and explain why you attributed to Satan what came straight from the scriptures. To say something that came from God really came from Satan is a very serious and dangerous accusation, and I'd advise you to reconsider making it.

The question has been asked in this forum many times: why is it that so many people HATE the Rapture to the point of slandering and mocking anyone who believes it? Just state your case and let others state theirs; you are not God's executioner. And if you truly believe that I'm destined for hell because I believe in the Rapture, in spite of the fact that I trust Jesus alone to save me, then why don't you pray for me and try to persuade rather than condemn? Do you treat all unbelievers like this?

Wouldn't they be the only hope for those that were supposed to be "left behind"?

I, for one, am a believer and do not want to be "raptured". I want to do God's work, telling every lost soul of the hope and good news in Jesus Christ, to the bitter ugly end.

And it is this sacrifice I would gladly make, because Jesus sacrificed for me.

Belief ==> Faith==> Willingness, Capitulation, Surrender==> Leap Of Faith==> Ezekiel 36:26-27 Born-Again.

IF you KNOW WHO Christ Jesus IS, Father-God Has Called your heart...

Can you find it within yourself to realize ONLY God IS Trustworthy and give HIM Control of your life and will?

All it takes is action, seeking HIM in prayer and Telling HIM...

Have to be willing to give your all Unto God.
All a matter of heart.
How much you Love and Trust HIM....

Obviously you don't read entire posts. I was speaking on the topic of the thread which is the rapture. The bible says all that matters is my salvation.

Re: Why would you want the rapture?
There is NO Rapture.
That means you Christians can now stop treating others badly just because you think you have a get-out-of-Hell-free card,
because you don't!
Thank you for your understanding.

Re: Why would you want the rapture?
A better question would be "Why wouldn't you want the rapture?"

Have you been watching the news OP? Life isn't getting any easier for many of us. Perhaps you have a grand and glorious life, but most of us don't.

There is no way it can be refuted.
By a bible verse?
There are none.

Re: Why would you want the rapture?
How about fucking stay on topic?

The thread is titled "why would you want the rapture?"
Not " come here to argue about wether this is real or not"
NEWSFLASH: if you don't believe the rapture is real, your answer is automatically "I don't".
Type that in and gtfo.
Stop trying to get under the skin of others so you can feel accomplished today. God knows most of you have been behind your keyboards all fucking day long!

Re: Why would you want the rapture?
I hope this is the last time the "rapture" happens. Been happening 2 fucking times in the past already. After this one...If we dont learn.

I dont want nothing to do with God or his silly little moral game. This reality can literally fuck off.

If the rapture happens, I'm being left behind and sent straight to hell.
