Why would you want the rapture?

The Rapture Could be Today. Get right with the Lord while you are still blessed with a little time.


Luk 21:36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

Basically I think that there is only one correct answer to as to when it will happen and that is... today. Please Note that there are two classes of the blessed. Class I Those who are dead in Christ. Class II Those who are alive in Christ.

Now someone who is in Class I was obviously at some time in the past a member of Class II. Non of us can guarantee that we will still be drawing breath at this time tomorrow. So this is not a matter that you can comfortably "put off". As is the common human tendency when faced with a decision. In fact putting it off is a decision in and of it's self. You might be blessed with a little more time, but don't count on it. The risks and consequences of dying in your sins are just to great. All of us are skating on thin ice.



1Th 4:13 ¶ But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

The whole point of Jesus Christ's sacrifice was to spare us when the time came.

Never forget that Revelation 3:10 states

Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

You can argue that means true believers will merely be moved out of the way (which is really just quibbling since any salvation would be a SORT of rapture) but based on what Christ described in Matthew 24:30....

“Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.

It sort of sounds like there is a gathering up and extraction, but again, interpretation is ultimately up to the reader.

There are various accounts of these "harvests" all throughout the bible. Some argue they are metaphorical, some suggest they are straight up fortuitous abductions. In any case, promises have been made that the faithful will not be harmed. Moreover that they will not be tempted or travailed upon as the unbelievers. Some people call this a Rapture.

More to the point and to answer your question: Even Christ didn't want to be crucified. He knew it was destiny but he still prayed for the burden to be lifted off him. Dying is a hard thing to do. Most of us aren't even prepared for it when we are old and long to return home.

You'd have to be some sort of masochist to WANT to die when God has seen fit to spare you that terrifying process. I, for one, would gladly take him up on that offer if it were proposed.

Claim: The PTR was a heresy started by Darby and made popular by Scofield.

Rebuttal: Darby stated that he saw the PTR in scripture, three years before MacDonald’s (non-rapture) vision. Scofield was noted for his teaching of Dispensationalism, as well as his Reference Bible. The PTR is a logical conclusion to draw from a dispensational approach to scripture, but this approach is hardly heresy. The allegorical approach is at least as open to the same charge, as is so-called Covenant Theology wherein no distinction is made between the church and Israel.

Indeed Darby states he saw the PTR in scripture. Who saw this before. Surely Darby wasn't the only enlightened man on earth since Christ. Not even the Lords apostles saw this or even wrote about it. I know Darby didn't invent this. Satan invented it and put it into Darby's mind to deceive. Either God was speaking to Darby or Satan. You can't serve 2 masters. By their fruits shall you know them. Please show me where in earlier writings early Christians taught this idea of rapture. I don't think you can. The fact is it wasn't a mainstream idea until very recent.

OP, you and others that want to stay here - your heart is here on earth to do His work can stay. Maybe the Lord will see that you would be perfect for staying. Me, I want to be with my Lord and Savior asap!

I've warned others. I will follow what the word of God says and I want to willing go when He comes for me.

I think there will be plenty of backsliders here left to carry on the word of God because they truly knew what the word says yet were not serving Him.

I have strayed from a belief or dwelling on the rapture. But I believe we are instructed to pray to escape the time of trial I have no problem with that. I would love to be raptured. It's going to be horrific here at some point. Why would I want to hang around on this godless planet?

You must have never heard of "context". The "come up hither" of the two witnesses is not the rapture of the church.

But once again: this has all been hashed over in many, many, many threads here. I gave links and a few statements, but mainly came to explain why I would want the rapture. Others as well have explained various points.

There's a discussion of who saw it before Darby in the article. And yes, the Lord's apostles saw it and wrote about it; that's where the teaching comes from. Paul was very clear about the sequence, as stated in the article.

You say, and seem quite adamant, that Satan invented it. But you will have to stand before God and explain why you attributed to Satan what came straight from the scriptures. To say something that came from God really came from Satan is a very serious and dangerous accusation, and I'd advise you to reconsider making it.

The question has been asked in this forum many times: why is it that so many people HATE the Rapture to the point of slandering and mocking anyone who believes it? Just state your case and let others state theirs; you are not God's executioner. And if you truly believe that I'm destined for hell because I believe in the Rapture, in spite of the fact that I trust Jesus alone to save me, then why don't you pray for me and try to persuade rather than condemn? Do you treat all unbelievers like this?

Have you been watching the news OP? Life isn't getting any easier for many of us. Perhaps you have a grand and glorious life, but most of us don't.

Obviously you don't read entire posts. I was speaking on the topic of the thread which is the rapture. The bible says all that matters is my salvation.
