Syria..a new way to make war
For a second, think about the genius that is ISIS and it's purpose.

Before modern times, when an country wished to make war on another country to gain money, resources or power, the aggressor country would either have to perform a false flag attack on its own people or just use good old fashion propaganda to gain support to attack a nation that had not attacked them.

For when both of those tricks don't work, as they have not in Syria, a new tactic has been developed.

The genius of this plan is that not only do you get to destroy a country, but you look like a hero in the process. The blow back of potential economic retribution for attacking an innocent country is eliminated.

The tactic is this. Create an army of terrorists, universally hated for their crimes you send them to do. Most of whom have no idea they are part of this plan, except for the top leaders you groom and release. Move this army into a country you want to eliminate. Guide this force to infrastructure you wish to destroy (oil refineries, pipe lines, military bases, etc) then bomb those sites claiming you're taking it out of the hands of the supposed terrorists. Move your created army to location after location, bombing them all in the same manner.

When you begin this operation you first bomb with cruise missiles, with your early targets being radar sites, air bases. Your fake army moves around the country clearing the way for your aircraft to further bomb more sites.

You take care to never destroy your puppet enemy, until the target country is in ruins, you then turn on your pet and kill it to, becoming the world's hero and eliminating any potential squealers at the same time.

Ruthless? Yes
Evil? Of course
But ya gotta admire a good plan...

Ever wonder how ISIS can drive 100 vehicle caravans through open desert without being engaged by Iraq/US aircraft?

Ever wonder how the most precise air force in the world keeps dropping military supplies to ISIS?

Ever wonder why hardened Iraqi bases armed with tanks and anti vehicle missiles are over ran by guys in pick up trucks?

Ever wonder why those retreating Iraqi forces don't destroy their vehicles before they flee?

Ever wonder how an army with nothing but civilian vehicles and small arms can evade three country's militaries on all sides at the same time?

Ever think it's weird that ISIS's leader was in US custody months before ISIS becomes ISIS?

Never thought those things were weird? You're not alone, hardly anyone else does either...

how exactly does the feign of surrender play in war? does it promote withdrawal of an occupying force, in numbers? does it have its advantages in certain situations?

Re: Syria..a new way to make war
Are you asking why do Iraqi forces feign surrender?
