According to the Japanese Ministry of Finance, Japan exported 131,999 used cars to Russia in 2012. ... Japan’s shipping companies have voluntarily put the radiation level limit on used cars for exports to be less than 0.3 microsieverts based on the government guidelines since the nuclear accident. But since Russia has a tighter regulation, they started adopting a limit of 0.2 microsieverts for cars to Russia in order to avoid the extra cost incurred when cars are sent back.
