I was discussing the flood of Noah and how God destroyed nearly all the people on the planet and giggled, then suggested we pray for Him to do it again.

prayer is actually one's expression of something they BELIEVE they lack, and also a statement of distrust in "god" to provide without you demanding it from him

if the so called god of this world was really a god, he would be offended by your arrogance "you can NOT petition the Lord" ... if you truly have faith in your god, to do the right thing, you would never need to pray

therefore, pray is an expression of your discontent with the circumstances you have been placed in to assist in your development of your full potential to save yourself.
