If the earth stopped spinning.... How big would the wave be?
Didn't find my answer in a quick web search.

So if the earth stopped spinning enough that the water at the equator started equalizing how big would the wave be?

If the earth rotated 90 degrees in a week how big would the wave be?

Anyone know where those calculations are?

The earth doesn't spin... if it did a trip from la to tokyo would take over a day it doesn't spin.. simple math proves the earth doesn't rotate..

I've kind of wondered why the direction you're going (east or west) has absolutely no effect on flight time over long distances.

I would think it would. I should probably research that.

OP is an idiot.
Doing that trip means going against the rotation of the earth, thus it can't take longer than a day.

If the earth spins at just over 1,000mph and it came to an immediate stop the the water would keep moving at 1,000mph for a certain period of time (who knows, maybe an hour?) and gradually slow down. It'd definitely flood the whole earth I'd assume.
