Why must they dress in tighter, "gay" looking clothing and be as flamboyant as possible in every aspect of their lives? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 59004578 It's like, you wanna be taken seriously, yet you act like a cartoon character who seeks attention. As far as the gay discrimination laws, how would a business even know men are gay unless they walk in looking like the typical flamboyant fairy boy? I know it's not all who are like this, some blend in with the world, live normal lives and their world doesn't revolve around advertising how gay they are, but why is it so many do have the need to put on this 24/7 show? Why do women wear short skirts and tight fitting clothes? Why do men wear expensive watches and nice suits? Because it's an identity thing, an advertisement to what you're looking for. |

Of course, it's always interesting to read these case studies promoted in reference to men. What about women? Are women just naturally bisexual? Do really gay women just act really effeminate? Or too masculine? Regardless, it's all beautiful. If their genetics are not worthy enough to be passed on and thus reduce the number of dependent offspring in circulation is that not a really hot and sexy victory for humanity? |

When certain men hit a certain age, they go and buy top notch cars, want younger women, etc...why do they feel the "need" to put on a "show"? Why do you feel the "need" to use words fairy boy, and put on a show making sure the world knows you are not a fairy boy yourself? |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 64686681 It has nothing to do with feeling safe. It's the fact that we are told we have to take people like this serious and not be judgmental. Sorry no matter what your sexual preference is, if you dress and act like an attention seeking child I can't take anything you say seriously. I just notice it to be very prevalent among the gay community. It's like a challenge to them who can look and act the most faggy. |

People changes their voices all the time. You are in a bad mood, but you're at work, so what do you do, you make sure you change your tone to a polite tone. You fake it till you make it. Some men want deeper voices or "act" macho, so their voices get deeper in different situations. I mean really who cares? Why does it even bother you? |

Maybe that's how "god" wants it--doesnt' want 100% of the human race to be hetero -- 5% homo or whatever it is. I know a lot of gay men and not very many fall in love. They very much embrace promisucuity. I know several in relationships that are very open. There is some jealousy but they also know they are incapable of being monogamous (the ones I know, not ALL gays). They actually have accessories that advertise what sexual stuff they're into, like there is bandanna or something that they can tie to their belt holes to indicate they're into fisting. It's very much advertising, because for many of them, sex is their entire existence. No not all gay men let the world know by their mannerisms, but generally speaking OP is correct. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 5468716 This may be true, there may be more than I am giving them credit for. But still, it doesn't answer the question why so many seem to be hell bent on showing everyone just how flamboyant and over the top they can be...and then wondering why people don't respect them. It's like women who dress and act like sluts and then get offended when men treat them like sluts. If you act like a circus act people are gonna consider you a joke. |
