Also a dash of dawn will break the surface tension of the vinegar....possibly also drowning bugs OH! Should have thought about the soap part of it! Thanks! :-) "Don't look back, you're not going that way." "As for me and my family, we will serve the Lord.” |

Also, some weeds DO have a protective waxy layer the soap helps to break it down...just a few drops in the mix is needed. |

Leave it on for about a month in each location. That should cook everything including weed seeds. So get it big enough so by summer every part has been under the tarp. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 751376 Or get a goat. That would take too long. Although I will say that is how my front yard is done. All this has happened before, and will happen again. |

Battlestar Valkyrie (OP) User ID: 22877893 United States 04/02/2015 12:13 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | well i know some of the environmental shills are going to hate but here's how. And BTW killing the weeds helps the environment NET because you have to mow less often, Bermuda grows slower than weeds. Quoting: ttown_okie STEP 1: get a decent 4gal backpack sprayer: [link to www.amazon.com] STEP 2: Use 2-4-D NOT roundup to kill the weeds, it will not hurt the grass. also mix into the sprayer the Prodiamine 65 as pre-emergent which will keep new weed seeds from growing for rest of season. Mix both into backpack sprayer in appropriate amounts. 2-4-D: [link to www.amazon.com] Prodiamine 65 [link to www.amazon.com] STEP 3: apply a slow release fertilizer a mix of nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K). STEP 4: Mow every 10 days or so. an do NOT bag clippings I like the idea behind your suggestion and will do more research. I don't have any grass. There are no plants in my yard except some cactus that I would be interested in preserving. All this has happened before, and will happen again. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 38778600 United States 04/02/2015 12:17 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | So I have a small house. I live in a high desert in Southern Colorado. Anyway, this year it seems my backyard and to a smaller degree my front yard decided to go gangbusters with weeds. My front yard is xeriscaped and my backyard used to be a large dog run. It is literally dirt. Quoting: Battlestar Valkyrie I want to kill the ground. I don't want to mess with weeds all summer if I can prevent it. I have grasses, dandelions, goatheads, and other irritating junk I can't identify. I am not interested in planting a lawn or garden. I am likely to move in the next 1-1.5 years. I do have close neighbors, so I have to be careful about how I apply whatever it is I need to apply. Also, I live in town so I can't buy into a scorched earth policy. Any ideas? Thanks in advance! Weed n Feed We resisted for two years , trying to go natural but finaly gave in. It was worth it Soft grass and some soft to the touch mossy ferns, no more weeds |

No joke a lot of wild growth are eatables, and tastes good, you do not have to plant the food it free of labor. Get onions, bacon and get them dandelions greens. Quoting: Daughter Yep, in an extreme situation I just might. But right now there are two grocery stores down the street from me. They have plenty of good vegetables there, I don't need to resort to eating thorny plants at the moment. All this has happened before, and will happen again. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 4326051 Weeds - the HORROR!!! :scream Just go drink some round up and leave nature alone. Even though I live in the desert, this town has codes. I probably could get hit with a code violation given the condition of my back yard. Besides, it is my yard and I don't like the weeds. If I want to destroy them that is my choice as a free man.
