Liberals want a carbon tax and will let water situation get to a crisis mode before anything is done. We will see Raising food cost as CA farmers will to be able to plant anything because of water shortage. Hang on it's going to Be a rough ride!!! |

The military already has them on their boats.... Amazing how the military can do it, I can do it at home, and the entire fucking world knows about it. But leave it to California to complain about lack of water WHEN THEY LIVE NEXT TO A FUCKING OCEAN... Only in America in this time. We've gone the way of the DODO bird. |

Yes, even Aruba has desalination plant. Makes no sense at all. . One of the most important aspects of conspiracy theories is being able to discern when there isn't one. Oh yeah, like you'd understand anyway. Where are we going and why am I in this handbasket?. . .J. Handy |

To supply a large population is completely different than a ship at sea or you doing it at home. Have you ever heard of a "Navy shower". You'd need the entire population on board. No everyday showers and the ones you do get use about 3 gallons of water. |

My dad's 53 foot sailboat has a desalination plant and produces more water than can be used on the boat by far. Your argument is strange sir. |

The vast majority of water in Ca. is used for agriculture. If it did make sense to start building desal plants right this minute and we received normal rainfall next season the neo cons would scream about stupid panicking liberals wasting money. There is certainly never a drought when it comes to idiocy. |

I'm not saying it can't be done.Or that it wont have to be done. What I'm saying is it's expensive. Australia spent $13.2 billion to accomplish a 30% desalination rate. The population of Southern California is about the same as Australia. Like I said before you'd need the entire population on board because usage and price will change. |

Illegal immigration costs California 25 billion a year, and seems to be encouraged by letting them drive and receive welfare. So water, necessary for sustaining life and even economic growth for California, seems to be a value at 13.2 billion... even at only 30% percent of the population using desalinated water. |

Desalination will work for cities but won't start to provide water for farmland. There is almost no snow pack this year. The melt water that would feed the farms simply isn't there. Donner party could have crossed the Sierras easily this winter no snow and T-shirt weather. |

If the population was using desalinated water how much of nature's water could be diverted back for agriculture I wonder? |

California has some nice folks, but the majority of them are progressive liberal wack jobs. It's a mental disorder that makes the victims expect something from nothing while ignoring obvious legitimate solutions. "God forbid we should ever be 20 years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, & always, well informed... If they remain quiet under such misconceptions it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty... Let them take arms... What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants. " - Thomas Jefferson in 1787 |
