Knowing right from wrong is inherent, or "god-given" if you will. There are many things in the Bible done by the bible God or the "Lord" that are inherently "wrong" which any reasoning person can feel. If you don't take that clue, it is your own fault.

"for the time of figs was not yet."

This means that the tree was to produce in this season & did not.

It was a tree he used to demonstrate that prayer from a faithful man would be honored by God. It was a learning moment for the disciples. I withdraw my previous comment.
