I have had many friends who took recreational drugs. Had a few friends and family die because of them. Not one died from marijuana or its effects.

Here is the list of drugs that have killed my friends in order of magnitude (total deaths).

Alcohol - the number one killer
Pharmaceuticals - what do you mean they caused liver damage
Heroin - nuff said, though one friend was beaten to death by the police in Indonesia for possession of heroin.
Meth - only one I know of.
Adrenaline - when mixed with ecstasy can be a heart stopper, sorry James.
