Friends from work are posting from Lookout Mountain, no power. I'm on sand mountain about 30 minutes away.. I have no idea on the scale but it's pretty big.

I am about 30 miles south of Huntsville and I have power.

Well I live near Guntersville, Alabama...which is about 30 miles southeast of Huntsville and the power has been on all day. Then again we get our power from Lake Guntersville dam, as for the weather it was mostly sunny in the low 80's today, so it's not weather related.

I found this article on WHNT 19's website, it's not a quarter of Alabama but just two counties in Alabama, which also are very rural counties as well, Fort Payne being the largest town effected.

The Sequoyah Nuclear Plant is a nuclear power plant located on 525 acres (212 ha) located 7 miles (11 km) east of Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee, and 20 miles (32 km) north of Chattanooga, abutting Chickamauga Lake, on the Tennessee River. The facility is owned and operated by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA).
