I personally saw a 486 SX25 with 4 megs of ram run full screen full motion color video flawlessly. It required putting the processor in protected mode so it could focus on one task - running video (with sound).

It was surreal, even back then. Ever since then, I knew everything having to do with computers and video was a total scam, it took what? 500 MHZ to finally do that? Where are all those clock cycles going?

And don't forget the Amiga and the video toaster, where real time processing and editing and output of video was a cold hard reality with what? 40 MHZ and 8 megs of ram? Not even a modern Mac can match that, they all need encoding time still WTF is up with that? OP IS RIGHT, WE ARE TOTALLY SCAMMED AND I KNOW WHY - ENCRYPTED OPERATING SYSTEMS, you see -

Someone here knows nothing about cracking encryption. Your CPU with either have 1 core, 2 cores, 4 cores or 8 cores. If it's Intel, it can be dual thread too.

Where as a decent Nvidia/AMD Graphics card will have 400-600+ cores (designed for gaming/graphic production) but can crack WPA and other encryptions a lot quicker than using a single processor.

Just that I got windows 8.1 and it needs such a ridiculous amoung of ram, at least 4 gigabytes to run.

it's just got hundreds of services and nearly all of them are cryptic mumbo jumbo about 'remote access' remote control, remote this, remote that.
