The Mexicans were so damn poor relative to us. It was like 1,500 pecos to the dollar. A soda was like 2 pecos and you'd get change back, and a refund on your bottle. You could buy the whole damn town with a ten spot!!! |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1701265 Kids were allowed to walk (ALONE) to the local neighborhood park and play without adult/parental supervision. They were safe. Honestly, I still think they'd be as safe as back then. It's just with the MSM spouting all the doom, people fear their kids will get picked up. That and you have those nosey people that call the authorities and complain about "abandoned children." The cops really need to tell people, 'Uhh, no. That's called playing. Quit bothering us, we have more important things to do like solve murders and arrest bankers." :) |

It doesnt take rocket science to figure this out There IS more pedophiles today than in past cause there is more people today, DUH |

I have to admit today fucking sucks and I feel sorry for my child because She will never know freedom. The crime back then was committed mainly be one group and the news wasn't shy about putting those faces on the news either. |

Music was awesome it actually meant something and people sang about real issues and it had meaning, it wasn't nastiness and sex, sex, sex. People didn't put up with B.S, they had balls! The police were there to help even drive you home if you were drunk. Everybody had money , school was cool, people had respect and cared about each other , we didn't have bullies , and if you were bullied you settled it the old fashion way by standing up for yourself being a victim wasn't cool. |

They mortgaged their children's futures for their personal satisfaction. Divorce, the rise of STDs to biblical levels, unabated greed, and Wham, no, the 80's weren't, "awesome". Oh, and New Coke and Crystal Pepsi. No fuckin' thanks. |

Alien abductions or taken to government secret facilities and experimented lol who knows but that is a lot of people to go missing every year with no trace Yes, I grew up in the 80s, and remember my parents taking me to the mall to have the police take pictures of me and fingerprint me so that I could be found if I were abducted. that was a regular event back in the mid-80s, police would put on those events, because it was so common for kids to be abducted back then. Many children were kidnapped to be used in sick underaged "porn", and they were often killed, sometimes in "snuff" films. I'll take today over the 1980s, thank you, I have children and I know that they are far safer in today's world ... |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 47829612 90's were way better. Sorry but that's just my take. During the 80's the movies were quirky and the music wasn't good at all. Styles were bright, all new, no fading and padded shoulders, Cyndi Lauper or Madonna styles were the trend, funky leggins, big hair, skewed hair or mullets. The only good things that came out of the 80's were Nintendo and the Smurfs. |
