I'd love to see a breakdown of people suffering from this alleged disorder by country i.e. those suffering it in places like the US and Australia (featured above) vs oh, I don't know, Hutus, Afghans, Tamils, etc. I'd bet big bucks this is exclusively a Western world disorder.

I think its time to bring back the mental hospitals and sanitariums just so we can weed out the attention whores from the really deranged.

An adult woman who pretends she is a child. That is what you are seeing.

Roseanne Barr made this "condition" popular in the US in the nineties...it's not real.

I realize that many of you would question this....some rudely so, but for two people, my husband and me, as well as several others, I can tell you that we had first-hand experience with a young woman who had this disorder, enough so that I could write a book that would make a GREAT movie! Please don't be so quick to dismiss it. It is very real and very tragic and yet a blessing for the individual who might not otherwise have survived extreme abuse without fragmenting. It is exhausting for them and those around them, and yet very rewarding to be a support. However, it can be damaging; our experience did not end well and it was very painful, but I far as I know she became at least somewhat integrated and is having a fulfilling life, but I'm sure with lot of hard work. I so wish her well and, as I did then, wish her nothing but good. Wish I could have continued to be a part of her journey, but apparently it was not meant to be......

I do believe people can suffer from split/ multiple personalities.

I do not believe they can simply pull one of these personalities out of their arse when they please.

This appears to be a grown woman acting like a child. Nothing more.
