The employee later told officials he had fallen asleep in the plane, according to a blog post by Alaska Airlines. Menzies contracts with Alaska to provide luggage services. Second video they ASSUMED it was a male. Something stinks here IMO. :smellbullshit: Was this really....REALLY????...a ramp worker who suddenly/instantly fell asleep while loading luggage only to wake up high above the ground banging and yelling for help??? Lots of strange plane incidents lately.... Minds open Thanks for the thread deano! 5 STARS!!! ~*Ride the Wave*~ |

The guy was probably assigned to the forward bin for carry on’s, and fell asleep waiting. It isn’t that hard to lose track of someone in the hustle and bustle rush of the same crew working three or four aircraft at a time. Whoever closed the forward bin didn't "Clear it" before closing, not that it is likely even a required procedure. Last I knew, Alaska uses Contract Ground at SEA, so this likely isn’t an official Alaska Airlines Employee. |

Done on purpose. Unlike this current story. Idk....I'm a skeptic. This also makes me even more concerned over our current airport security. Seriously....how does this sh*t even happen??? Bottom line, it shouldn't! There's NO excuse. Meanwhile my 90 year old grandmother is being felt up by TSA?!?! FFS Shame is what it is. ~*Ride the Wave*~ |

They said that on local Seattle news. SeaTac is the main hub and base operation for Alaska Airlines. I would assume they get the planes loaded and unloaded fast and move to the next plane. Alaska Airlines boasts about never waiting more then 20 minutes for your bags. They have billboards around Seattle that say that. I don't think there would be much free time during a shift, for all the reasons I said above, and it was a Monday afternoon. It's midnight, and time for bed. But I'll get more info and post late. [link to en.wikipedia.org] Alaska Airlines is the seventh largest US air carrier. It is based in Seattle, Washington. -Everything's more awesome when you lean into it. |

There was a young boy trying to hitch a free ride on a plane back to his home town. Unfortunately his story didn't have such a happy ending. He fell out. And landed in Milton, MA. A rather nice area. Not much was left of him...sooooo sad...story broke my heart when it happened. They found a note in his pocket, which was the only way they were even able to identify him. The story that the ramp worker fell asleep is odd. On local news the story has changed some. From the actual employee confessing to napping, to the airline saying fell asleep. It's changed from he to she and a ramp agent to a baggage handler. I'm not a liar. But if I had a job like that, and I actually did fall to sleep. I'd make up a story not to get fired. Like I was loading this cargo hold area alone, next thing I knew, I woke up and the plane was in flight. I'd play it off like I fell and hit my head, became unconscious. Then hit my head to make a little wound and leave some blood on a corner of something metal inside. Or maybe a bag had an usual odor and it overwhelmed me. Like I said, any story to save my job. -Everything's more awesome when you lean into it. |

I guess that's all the updated. It's not even in local news anymore. Still seems all too odd to me, like you, Simple27. C'mon! I'm far more odd than this story. Oh, I see. I worded that badly. I meant I agreed the story is odd, like you think it's odd. I spent a summer in an State Hospital. But I was working there, no in a padded room. You know what I thought was very creepy. There was one wing, on the first floor. That one whole ward, maybe about 20 or 30 rooms. Were all about 10x10 all white tile walls and ceilings. Concrete floor and a big drain in the middle. Like manhole size. No joke. Other then all that, the other odd things was, there wasn't like shower heads anywhere. So it's not like they were locker room showers. Still seems odd. Also, he won't be fired. [link to www.cnn.com] Alaska Airlines said it's investigating, as is Menzies Aviation, which called the agent "an experienced employee." It is believed he was hidden by luggage, making it difficult for the rest of his team to see him, according to the source familiar with the investigation. -Everything's more awesome when you lean into it. |
