I wonder if it applies to this situation. Is WalMart pretending to close stores for plumbing issues when what they are really facing is stores that are costing them money to keep open, but they don't want to close a bunch of stores because it could hurt stock prices? Quoting: Booger Cancer I'm not saying this is the case, but it's worth adding to the mix as to possibilities of why this would be happening. "Here is all you need to know about retail. IT DOESN'T EXIST TO SELL PRODUCT. IT EXISTS TO SELL STOCK TO INVESTORS. Stores and advertising are there to make a company visible to those who will purchase stock and thereby make money for the directors and top managers of those businesses. It is a complete con game." If he is correct in his assessment, it helps to explain why individual chain stores remain open long after they are no longer profitable. The Livingston store supported 5 counties, or about 150,000 people. There was nothing wrong with their financial situation. |

Quoting: Doctorknow Went to walmart as usual I ended up in the sporting goods and in the camping isle they have these red bags with reflective shit on em saying be ready bag there 50 bucks have a 3 day supply for 3 people probably the cheapest shit they could find but still strikes me as odd all the preparedness stuff being sold everywhere now. Thoughts comments? yes i too, noticed them, creeped me out. this would screw me hard as brookshires has about a 20% markup over wallyworld for food. fire suppression wouldnt take this long to replace. we need this answered and squared away fast. The one in Trinity is more like a 30% markup on several items. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 62797999 United States 04/14/2015 01:22 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | What is going on? I just heard that numerous Wal-Mart stores from Texas to Florida are closing immediately for 6 month period due to "plumbing problems." There was no pre-announcement and the store shelves were fully stocked. They even had to discount frozen goods 50% to get rid of the stock. They have given all employees a 2 month severance pay. Does this have anything to do with Jade Helm? I have heard that Wal-Mart has a contract with DHS to act as a command and logistics center for FEMA in case of a national emergency. Quoting: Doctorknow Sounds like a design flaw in the plumbing. Walmart uses the same contractor for most of it's store constructions. If it has been deemed "unsafe", it's cheaper to just shut down, than risk a lawsuit. Walmart wouldn't shut down for anything other then a major reason. They would just close the bathrooms and fix them in a weekend and keep making millions a day per store |

This story from April 12th lends credence to the idea that Walmart is playing a game for stock prices: "Last Friday the Walton family, heirs of Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (NYSE: WMT) founder Sam Walton, announced that the family business, Walton Enterprises LLC, would would distribute about 6% of its holdings to a newly created Walton Family Holdings Trust. The Walton family’s stake in Wal-Mart has risen to about 50% as a result of share buyback programs, and the family is satisfied to control the company’s biggest stake without actually owning enough stock to give them actual control." I also reversed my chronic kidney disease (glomerulonephritis) when I was 25. In neither case were any medical treatments involved. |

IF it were plumbing problems they would section off the building and do construction at night in phases. The store would be partially operational. Something strange is going on guys. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 956678 United States 04/14/2015 01:27 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | If you are in these areas watch these Walmart's closely. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 54156286 Watch for large box containers being stocked in the parking lot. These could contain fences for both outside and inside use. Look for large amount of walmart truckers in the first few days these are closed, they will be moving product out. Note all contract companies arriving on location. Take pictures. If possible, during the day take picture though front door. It will be well lit because walmarts have skylights to reduce energy usage. This is smack dab in the middle of Jade Helm. The Walton's even have their own bunker, don't be surprised that they made a deal for all their tax breaks to use Walmart facilities as quick setup FEMA centers. They probably will need time to get things ready.. Also its not uncommon for major construction to fence the entire site to isolate the project.. Looks like a good excuse... |

Thoughts comments? I've seen them at local Walmart stores here in Missouri, in Troy and Bowling Green. The go-bags they have are all black and claim to have 3 days food/water. I could not find a link on their site to it, but I did find a review of the one I've seen. Only difference is the one in the video is olive drab and the one's I've seen are all black, in the ~34.99 range. [link to www.youtube.com (secure)] |

Plumbing consists of more than just bathrooms, especially at a place like walmart. Maybe a design flaw causes human shit from the sewer drains to back up into the dishwashers/sinks in the kitchen area and no one noticed. Could be many things but the bathrooms are most likely not what we're talking about here. Others have suggested fire suppression systems and they're probably on the right track. Who knows. Probably is actually plumbing issues but people like to use their imaginations. Personally I hope something fucky is happening. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 64867897 United States 04/14/2015 01:36 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Pic or it didn't happen. Read my above explanation. It is a hack and a damn good one. I have a nephew in law that works out of the mountain in Colorado springs. High level security satellite dude. I'll e-mail my niece tomorrow. so they hacked google...? Something else strange is if you use Google maps it has already posted these locations as Temporarily Closed in capital letters. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 64867897 My theory is they hacked Wal-Mart's media release database program. Probably located at their super secret complex on the Missouri-Arkansas border. It would have a type of cascading effect especially if certain algorithmic programs would automatically start running such as an update on Google Maps. This is still a very nasty scenario especially if it had happened during Wall Street business hours. I am convinced it is some sort of hack attack. Uh.. People have confirmed stores closed. |
