I am not some sort of authority on rap. However, I would make the claim that both Eminem, Jay-Z, Tupac, an Biggie are/were all better than the two examples you posted.

OP like I alluded to, I don't live and breathe hip hop culture but if you haven't heard of either Hasan Salaam or Obie Trice you should take a look. Especially Obie Trice. You probably heard of him though. Although maybe not, not even sure how popular he is anymore. I remember when Eminem introduced him to the majority of the world.

Talib Kwali is good shit too. Not sure how many other rappers I would recommend, I try not to call one hit or one album wonders great.
