Notice the odd cast of main characters that transcend time, from a living cavemen to the "Interplanetary Intelligence Agent" ET-like Colonel Bleep who apparently comes from the future. There were many very odd cartoons and sitcoms from the '50s and '60s featuring flying saucers like USAF Roger Ramjet who in one episode was tasked with determining the mysterious origin of UFOs. Was it necessary to keep the public focused on something EXTERNAL, after WW2 ? That seems to be a recurrent theme -- keep the public's attention focused on external things, the axis powers, the ufos, the cold war, now its terrorists |
