What If Your Younger Self Met Your Current Self?

I'd have four words for my younger self:

DON'T FUCKING MARRY HER!

Now that you mention it

I think it happened once

I was satisfied

I think id be stoked actually... and it would be assuring for my younger self to carry on. I love who i am becoming! Hey Kauai! Maui here! Aloha!

If my younger self met my current self? Hmm

Probably something like "How in the hell did you start a family?" And "how in the world did your mom convince you to move to New Mexico?"

Although I'm not really that old. 25 years of age. At 18-19 I felt I was on top of the world while at UGA

Impressed, I guess. Luckily I'm aging gracefully...so she'd know me in a heartbeat.

Well, I suppose my present self would tell my younger self to just stay with Ronnie...because you'll be marrying him anyway...and what a life you'll then create if you not wait 20 years to start it...cause he'll die rather young.

Oh, but wait!

If I tell her to do that, and NOT marry Jimmy, she'll never get to have Rob...who's an amazing son.

Hmm.

But, shouldn't I warn her about...

Hmm.

We don't look much different, we don't eat much differently, we don't think ANY differently, and we still have the same friends.

So, what's the point?

If I tell her anything of seeming value, maybe it could backfire. Perhaps she'd become too cautious, or fearful, or go into a protection mode which might very well bury the happy-go-lucky spirit which has lasted through time?

I still like me for who I am...so it's best we never meet.

Life could be far better...and then, it could be worse.

As strange as it may sound, I still see myself as that same teenager in awe of the world around her. Maybe that's why I don't feel any older.

I would have run away or committed suicide until one worked.

but it depends on how my present self will feel about my past self?, or the opposite.

Im am far stronger, more grown spiritually, than my past self, say, that one when i was 20 years old, now with 35. But my past self would be scared what it has to go trough to reach where i am now.

He would kick the living shit out of me for not having had sex with all of the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders; not owning a black 77 trans am; not being an NFL Hall of Fame QB; not giving Chuck Norris a righteous beat-down; not having multiple #1 best selling novels; and not being a multi-gazillionaire.

Tears are streaming down my face as I write this.

I would yell at my younger self for wasting 4 years moping around after high school GF of 2 years dumped him! What a sap younger self was and wasted some really great years moping, waiting, hoping, hurting!

Seriously if I had the chance there's a lot of advice I'd give my younger self.

I would tell my younger self to break up with my God given true love.

Now if only my stubborn pigheaded younger self would take my advice and same me a ton of heartache.

My younger self would demand a writen account of all life disasters and wrong choices. Recall all major business moves , the rise of Apple , Google, bit coin etc. as a half ok artist , I'd draw a pic of ex wife and warn to stay away.
