BREAKING!! 4 dead, one critical in a random ambush in Wisconsin

MENASHA, WI-- Four people are dead, and one injured after what police call a random shooting on the Trestle Trail Bridge in Menasha.

Investigators have been working throughout the night to figure out exactly what happened.

The incident happened just after 7:30 Sunday night.

When police arrived, three people were dead; two were taken to the hospital with injuries, including the shooter.

Officers believe the male shooter was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

I know, last week in Appleton, WI, there was a very very small "protest", "unity" walk in relation to Baltimore. Appleton is about 5 mins from Menasha.

After fight with girlfriend, left house headed to the trail, armed with two handguns. He open fired unprovoked at close range, then shot him self. WTF....

Shooter was ex air force and was re inlisting till this.

Shooter was upset over girlfriend walking out on him and shot her family as they enjoyed a quiet walk in warm weather on the bridge.

Mother shot three times and managed to get two of her kids off the bridge to safety

I will give you an example of quoting statistics in a realistic way.

the total number of annual gun deaths by:
Homicide is approximately 10,000
Suicide is approximately 20,000

Do you believe none of the homicides by gun would have occurred if guns were not available? A few would have been avoided but most murders would have happened using another means.

Do you really believe taking guns away from the suicidal would stop them? Maybe a few and maybe a few more would be less successful but overall just as many would terminate their life by another means if guns were not available.

By quoting inflated/incomplete data you insinuate a point that is not true - in other words you lie.

My grandpa shed light on life/death when we were riding in his car as kids. He said "we could all die right now, you never know". A couple months later his brother and nephew were hit while they were sitting at a stopsign and it killed both of them. Careful what you say I guess.

I am also in Green Bay. The town of Menasha is in shock. I had heard that the shooter was some type of police officer. Not sure.

He was ex air force and auxilary cop for menasha. He did event security and was not armed when on duty at events.

He was going to re-inlist but that changed.
