If Jesus taught us to forgive our enemies and do good to them..then why..
..if you never hear about him..or dont follow him..he will burn you alive forever in untold sadistic agony with his mercy that endures forever and his love that never fails...??

Also why did he tell us to forgive our enemies..and love and do good for those who hurt us...but he tortures his enemies in unspeakably horrific ways forever...enemies that can neither hurt nor harm him.???

And its not just the christian god who loves torture and doom.

Look at the main statements from all the various mainstream gods of hate and eternal revenge..

Allah...."Serve ME or I burn you alive forever"

Born again God.."NO..serve ME or I burn you alive forever"

JW God.."NO..serve ME..OR I KILL YOU ALL" (Not into torture)

Mormon God.."Nah..SERVE ME..or you will end up in the telestial plane with other maggots like yourself forever"

Baptist God "Serve ME or I BURN YOU ALIVE"

Catholic God "NO..serve ME..or I will have you TORTURED in sadistic ways FOREVER..and even if you DO serve me you STILL have to get tortured in purgatory for a while..cause I LOVE to inflict AGONYYYYY

Re: If Jesus taught us to forgive our enemies and do good to them..then why..
Every human being has an appointed time on this earth. They are also give a great measure of authority over their own life, as well as the lives of those they impact (family, friends, coworkers, the general public).

Imagine the atheist who marries a Christian woman and draws her away from God. They then have 5 children who know nothing of God, and go on and do the same with their own lives having 5 children each, which continue on in their own vain ways. It won't take many generations before countless souls are affected by the willful disobedience of a single man.

If you are aware there is a possibility that there is a God in heaven who will hold you accountable, how could you shrug off this responsibility without sincerely looking into Him? Not to mention wielding your freewill authority with such arrogant demeanor.

Seriously, either you're deciding what you want or your not. And it's clear most people who oppose the gospel are most certainly deciding for themselves. The only way to shrug this freewill authority over your actions is to humble yourself before God, and admit you need saving, from yourself most of all. Then, you will know the truth and the truth will set you free.

Read river of fire by alexander kalomiros

Salvation proper is God's sovereign act by which we are rescued from bondage to death and sin. By God's act of will, human and divine nature are joined forever in the Person of the Son. In the Son's incarnation the chasm of separation between God and man, caused by Adam's sin, is healed. By the Son's life as a man, every aspect of humanity has become perfect in Christ, and perfectible in us. By the Son's death and resurrection, the power of death over human nature is destroyed, and the captives in hell are liberated. By the Son's ascension into heaven and sitting at the right hand of the Father, human nature is perfected and raised to that place that it was created to occupy.

All this was done for us as a free gift. We did not deserve it, earn it, ask for it, or understand it.

In the sense that Christ, by His incarnation, life, death, resurrection, and ascension has destroyed the power of death and sin over human nature, ALL people are saved. There are no more slaves to death and sin, only willing servants. This is as true of the Orthodox as it is of Roman Catholics, Protestants, Hindus, pagans, and atheists.

Our salvation from enslavement was by God's grace, and not by our will or merits or works.

The question now is, having been freed from slavery to death and sin, whom will we choose to freely serve?

Will we choose to develop into living icons (images) of God (Gen 1:26-27)?

Or will we neglect our purpose in life?

Those who freely and willingly pursue the perfection for which God created us draw closer to heaven.

Those who freely and willingly deface the image of God within them draw closer to hell.

Both are equally and completely loved by God now, and will be loved by Him for all eternity.

The former will feel this love as warmth.

The latter will feel it as fire.

The following essay is an excellent insight into the differences between Orthodox and Western views of God, salvation, and theosis:

I answered it the first time. Jesus is not torturing people in hell. It is their own sins that led them there. For the third time, Romans 1 tells us WE ALL know God exists. If you deny God, God will deny you. Sounds like justice to me.

OP, what kind of God lets unrepentant sinners go to heaven with the rest of the faithful sheep? An unjust God.

With your logic, why don't you write to your local judge, and ask for the rapists and killers to be set free back into your community.

The answer is, a convicted person deserves their sentence. Don't blame the warden, it is the convict's fault. Again, with your logic, you should be writing to your local Judge and asking for the rapists and killers to be set free.

Accountability and Justice are the points here, which you want to avoid for some reason.
