Joel Salatin Rabbit Tractor!

Here is my take on the rabbit tractor used on Polyface farm in Virginia. Joel Salatin recommends something very strange....pasture raised animals!!! Give it a try to have healthier animals, and save money too!

Re: Joel Salatin Rabbit Tractor!
Do you raise for meat or manure, or just to keep the grass nice and cropped? I raise rabbits for manure in the compost which in turn goes into my raised beds and small orchard.

Nice bun :-)

I use them for meat, sell to others, and the manure is a nice by-product. I pasture them to keep costs low. More then costs though I think they are just happier out here in the grass. They don't seem very happy in the cages. Wish I could afford to build more. As of now I rotate the rabbits through.

Re: Joel Salatin Rabbit Tractor!
I got out of rabbits cause I didnt like raising them on wire, and didnt have the property to pasture them. I'm looking into the possibility of warrening them like what they did in the medieval ages.
