How humans are not physically created to eat meat
How humans are not physically created to eat meat

Although some historians and anthropologists say that man is historically omnivorous, our anatomical equipment teeth, jaws, and digestive system favors a fleshless diet. The American Dietetic Association notes that "most of mankind for most of human history has lived on vegetarian or near-vegetarian diets."

And much of the world still lives that way. Even on most industrialized countries, the love affair with meat is less than a hundred years old. It started with the refrigerator car and the twentieth-century consumer society. But even with the twentieth century, man's body hasn't adapted to eating meat. The prominent Swedish scientist Karl von Linne states, "Man's structure, external and internal, compared with that of the other animals, shows that fruit and succulent vegetables constitute his natural food." The chart below compares the anatomy of man with that of carnivorous and herbivorous animals.

When you look at the comparison between herbivores and humans, we compare much more closely to herbivores than meat eating animals. Humans are clearly not designed to digest and ingest meat.

Females have minimum iron loss monthly and massive iron loss at child birth. One of the ONLY ways to gain the iron back is through eating meat, the bloodier the better. This is one of the reasons animals eat the placenta. I wonder if meat eating is historically related to a woman's iron loss and was therefore adopted into society as benificial?
Accept now that all you have seen from the day of your birth on the surface of the earth, to the present, and all that you will meet here are wonderful only because the finite mind of man is confused with fragments of evidence, that, from whatever direction we meet them, spring from an unreachable infinity.

"I'll bite" . . . LOL!!

Ever try to bite a carrot with only your front teeth? "Pointed fangs" as you call them, work for that too, as well as meat.

Open your mind, as well as your mouth! (To bite carrots, of course.)

our colons only get compacted with rotten meats when they are taken in conjunction with man made foods like breads, pastas, cakes ect. if you only took meats and other natural foods like fruits and veggies your colon would be running efficiently and cleanly.

Men like meat anyway. If women had anything to do with it I can see the evolution.

Re: How humans are not physically created to eat meat
OP,

As far as I understand it, there is a fundamental flaw in your assertion.

Humans need sufficient amounts of Cobalt for the body to function correctly.

Grasses that livestock eat contain copious quantities of cobalt, but the vegetables that humans eat have very very little cobalt.

As far as I understand, the only way a vegetarian can maintain a healthy body is to eat such things as tofu or other products that come from plants that are not digestable by humans. In other words, prepared food products from plants that cannot be eaten in their natural form by humans.

Meat contains copious amounts of cobalt and very little meat is necessary to sustain the cobalt levels.

Vitamin B-12 contains a high amount of cobalt also and is taken by vegetarians.

Vegetarians live on the average 5 years less than omnivorous humans.

It appears that the best natural diet for humans is a little meat, with the usual balance of grains, fruits, vegetables...et.

I did not say that we were primary carnivores. We are omnivorous beings. I like to eat carrots, olives, tomatoes and many other plants but I also like animal food. In fact I like pork so much that I would never revert to vegetarian food. Horse meat saved my moms life once. She got anemic from severe pneumonia.

I totally agree with OP!!!

We're coming from simians/apes; they seldom eat meat; they live on greenery and leaves; despite that a gorilla has enormous muscles...how come? :-)

Why people eat rottening cadavre I'll never understand; not good for your body (being full of rottening meat), not good for the killed animal.

I only take potatoes, rice, pasta, and fruits...a way to perfect health and heaven.
