People in high-risk seismic regions should remain alert for the possible occurrence of moderate to large earthquake events. |

Ziconic User ID: 63875496 United States 05/16/2015 11:36 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The swarm in Hawaii has been going on for a few weeks now. Crater Collapse Causes Lava Explosion on Hawaii's Kilauea "Molten lava, rocks and gas went flying through the air on Hawaii's Kilauea volcano after an explosion was caused by the partial collapse of a crater wall. The collapse triggered a small explosion, spreading lava and debris around the rim of Kilauea's Halemaumau Crater, the U.S. Geological Survey's Hawaiian Volcano Observatory says. Janet Babb, a geologist with the USGS, compared the blast on Sunday to taking a hammer to the top of a bottle of champagne." [link to abcnews.go.com] As far as the West Coast goes, there have been over 100 quakes in the past 24 hours. They just arn't big ones. [link to earthquake.usgs.gov] And Japan - well, they are always on deck for a big one. “Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity.” ~Seneca You can lead the Democrats to knowledge, but you can't make them think. |

I read yours wrong - as "west coast". I'm looking for West Pacific and not seeing much on EMSC. However, they don't post the smaller quakes. And Japan has taken their seismos off the web, so it's difficult to know. Isaiah 43:1-2 User ID: 15469851 United States 05/16/2015 12:19 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I lived in northern California 35yrs. ago and I remember watching the clothes in my closet rock back and forth for a few seconds. My bed felt a little wobbly. But I wasn't scared at the time. Everyone expected "the big one" but I was young and unusually dumb at the time. Nothing phased me. So all of these little quakes are not new. Last Edited by Isaiah 43:1-2 on 05/16/2015 12:21 PM follower of Jesus |

We are always warned to have a "bug-out" bag and keep the car filled with gas. If there is an emergency, how are we to get out? The roads will be packed and there will be state cops everywhere. If you go on foot, where is anyone going to go? If you live in a city, it takes at least an hour or more to get out of the area by car, so how can anyone do it on foot? I know an earthquake is different than riots, etc. I think with the way things are going, even though these small quakes have always happened, I'd leave California. I live in Chicago and I worry about the New Madrid, but I can't find anything certain about where the Great Lakes will be effected or if they definitely will. These predictions can be very frustrating. follower of Jesus |

Before he left, he told me that when the roof goes 'ding..pink...clink...clack'...whatever, starts making noises, that it meant an earthquake was happening (metal corrugated roof on 2x6). It's been happening so much the other day I thought...gee idkwtf this is, but it can't be that many earthquakes. I guess I owe him a beer. |
