My favourite pice of music ever
i want to pass on for those who have never heard this piece of music

an impossible task to name your top tune but this has to be it

there`s many different styles of music for many differing emotions and feeling, times and times of life

but overall this has to be my absolutely number one favourite piece of music

on one of the first albums i ever bought (in fact i made my dad who died 5 years ago today take me out to buy it...he sat down with me and listened to it too and passed a comment of good musicianship )

Any Color You Like from Dark Side of the Moon by Pink floyd

Re: My favourite pice of music ever
i`m in nostalgia mode and stoned and thinking of my Dad who died 5 years ago today of cancer

i spent a lot of my life from age 16/17 etc rebelling against him and was a down and out junkie no good fo many years

i hurt him terribly and when close to death with my kids in care i finally found something that enabled me to recover

i made my peace with him a few years before he died so thanks to whoever or whatever is/was watches over us all

and this piece says all i have to feel and say

sorry for the outpour...just need connection right now

loving y`all

Many thanks for this post, I'm a Pink floyd lover, got half of a terrabite of their shows.
I'm allmost 53 and if I speak for myself it's the best band of my time.

Re: My favourite pice of music ever
Glad you connected with your dad before he died OP. Parents are great but we often don't appreciate them as teens.

I prolly need to get stoned to appreciate the music. Haven't had any weed for twenty years. Music was better back then. I think the wall between our consciousness and creativity cracked back then. Now people don't connect so well. All the musicians who created incredible music can't create anything these days. Most are burned out on drugs and booze. Too bad ...

Re: My favourite pice of music ever
I feel your pain Op. and I offer you my sincere sympathy.

The pain of losing someone as close as a parent, and a loving and much loved parent at that, is very very hard to cope with. I lost my dad to cancer 4 years ago after having helped to care for him for 2 years. I miss him every bit as much today as I did the day he died.

Last year, on Christmas Day, my beloved mother (whom I cared for since my dad's death) also passed away and I'm not at all sure as to how I'll cope on Christmas Day 2006. Needless to say it will be neither a "happy" nor "merry" day for me.

I try and avoid listening to music which we three used to listen to and enjoy together because I immediately start crying and feeling so so sad. We each cope with these kinds of losses in different ways but we all feel the same enormous grief and pain.

My love to you, S&S smile_hear

thanks to you S&S

it only really hit me around 7/8 months ago that he wasn`t here any more and i let a lot of it out then

i used to comfort myself in saying that his cycle is now complete and a complete circle is a beautiful thing

my mum is still around and i hope you come to terms with the loss of your Mum and Dad in a way you`re content with...they`re just a little further along the path

The only thing I would tell you is that if your parents where good people they are in good hands.

I'm very sorry for your lost but they are having a good time by now.

I'm not a believer but a knower because I was there allmost more than once.
