BRIEF User ID: 65696907 United States 05/20/2015 01:04 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | A farmer told his son to take their duck to town and sell it, because they need the money for supplies. On the way he passed a cute girl and she offer to fuck him for the duck...so he couldn't resist and fucked her. On the way home without the duck he realized his dad would be upset without the duck and without money so he goes back to see what can be done. He catches up to the girl and she agrees to give him the duck back if he gives her a fuck back. So, happy that all worked out he continued to town when the duck leaped out of his arms and landed in front of a moving truck where it got squished. The truck driver stopped and apologized and offered the kid $15 for the mangled duck. When he got home his dad asked how he did. The kid said well, I got a fuck for the duck and a duck for a fuck, then I got $15 for a fucked up duck. I never forgive and I never forget I am a licensed firearm holder. I will, under protection of law, use lethal force if attacked. |

You will find that chicks and chickens can be quite mean to each other and to anything their own size. They will always establish a "pecking order", and a young stressed duckling doesn't stand much chance against their constant pecking. We always started our chicks and ducks separately and only put them together once they were stronger and older. |

Sometimes they make it, but most of the time the fish or the hawks get them. As the poster mentioned above, the chicks get mean pecking at anything that moves. Though yours look an awful lot like guinea's. I doubt that combining ducklings and chicks, in itself, caused this. Some foul just don't make it for what ever reason. But early mortality is probably a defect of some sort given the environment and food & water are good. Natures way. I doubt anything you did had any impact. Go get you a few more and see what happens. When we started out, we ordered from a hatchery and had way too good success. Prior to that, we got a few from the feed store and didn't fare so well. BTW, you need more chicks....if you got a strait run (unsexed) there a couple of roosters there. Adversity is inevitable, misery is optional. Do or do not. There is no try. So you wrap them up and throw them out in the trash, like a bad piece of meat. And rabbits and hamster moms eat their dead young sometimes, eww. Take them out before they rot. Circle of life has factory rejects sometimes. |

The chickens can make the ducks sick I guess. Who knows guess I will try it and start over. |
