In order for your hormone fed, ammonia-soaked chicken to be treated humanely as possible (farm vs. factory) it would have to triple in price - same with the pork, etc. The masses who go to wallyworld are not going to go for healthfood store (real) prices. Rising food prices make people MAD and it threatens the ruling class - this is the same world-over. As far as some of the outright physical abuse? They will make a statement on it - but the chickens will continue to cramped into dark shacks and stew in their own filth for the foreseeable future. Cows will live on a diet of corn and antibiotcs. |
